My Ruger #1V in .223 is a finicky little vixen. Only happy with a very specific load (and I tried lots of combinations) which is a max load of H335 atop a 50 gr. Vmax, using Winchester brass neck sized in a Lee Collet die. This combination regularly gives .75" 5-shot groups @ 100 yds. But it has been really hard to find that combo lately, so I have had to expand my horizons. A few years back I got a box of Midway 50 gr. HP Dogtown bullets that sat on a shelf.
So, with my stock of Vmax bullets rapidly diminishing,I decided to give them a whirl, with the attached target resulting. Now they are out of stock with no back order.
I think they may be more accurate than the Vmax.
