So I think what I am hearing is that if I buy a bunch of the 10rd carbine mags they'll fit in my pistol?
Clearly aesthetics are not my primary concern. I'm buying a hi-point after all...
So I've decided to buy a Hi-point 9mm for the car rather than leaving a gun worth a few $100 in it. That way if it gets stolen I'm only out about $150, and if I ever have to use it and it gets confiscated I won't really care.
In addition to the handgun, I'd love to toss the 9mm carbine in...
So I'm heading out to Alaska for a few months, and while I'll be working, I'm planning on doing a fair share of hiking/mountain climbing (not hunting).
If anyone has experience in the area I'd love to hear your thoughts on what type of gun I should bring. I have heard a variety of thoughts...
Come May I'll be moving to Alaska for several months, and have plans to take advantage of the 22 hours of sunlight and do a fair amount of hiking/fishing etc.
Problem is in the event of interrupting a brown bear I need a bigger sidearm (.44) than anything I currently own, and as always funds...
Thanks everyone for all the help. I've been pumping everyone's suggestions through Google, and my local "gunnies". Suggestions are still welcome however....
So most of my shooting life has been spent peering down iron sights, however now that my eyes have started to go I figured I'd better jump into a few optics.
Sadly, the only optics I have ever purchased have been for .22 plinkers, and I am hopelessly lost in the world of scopes.
I am...
So.
I have a handful of handguns that I like, but a few of them have triggers that aren't "just right" for me. I have never paid to have anyone gunsmith any of my guns, and therefore I have no idea what a trigger job should cost. Any estimates of what I should be paying?
I have one in .40 that I only care for so-so. For some reason the trigger doesn't agree with me and I have a tendency to pull the shots off target a hair....Turned it into a truck gun.
Smart move not to chase the perp out the door. My tactics involve turning the lights OFF and moving loved ones up the stairs. THEY (bad guys) have to move and make shadows, I can just sit in the dark and be hidden....
