Those bottles, while small, can still apply too much and it's sometime hard to know when the flow will begin.
I've gone to putting a drop or 2 on the bench. Dip a small wire into it. then touch the wire to what is to be oiled. Like the old carbine oiler.
Mr. Tom:
Thanks for the update and advice. Which i’ll heed.
One more question:
Assume the final rule does survive and the injunction is lifted.
A. Will simply removing and discarding the brace, OR
B. Installing a 16” barrel and discarding the short barrel,
bring a pistol into Final...
Hello:
I haven't kept up on this, but I would like to know and perhaps others would like the same update:
If anyone knows and has time to explain, or can point me to a definitive answer:
Exactly, definitively, where does this whole AR 'pistol' with brace / AFT Final Rule business...
My 60-4 3” has a target hammer and trigger, both are quite wide and made from case hardened carbon steel. Rest of gun is stainless. I put a set of S&W ‘Banana’ stocks on it, It’s one of my favorite revolvers.
I found mine at Academy Sports, price was $715 less 10%, so a little under $700 total.
Totally reliable and like all HPs it fits my hand better than almost anything. Sig 365XL comes closest.
Best grips of any standard HP I've ever seen. They should paint the back of the grips red. Great...
I have both and I’m glad as I like them both, but not equally.
Although the reason is unclear to me I like shooting the M1A better. Maybe because the receiver is shorter? I really don’t know. I use 10 rd mags, the longer ones (20s) just get in the way. But if all I had was the Garand I’d...
I probably described it wrong. The stuff I looked at:
LOCTITE LB 8008 C5-A is an exclusive anti-seize lubricant in a brush top form with copper and graphite suspended in high quality grease. It has an NLGI Grade of 0. (Italics in original).
So a thin grease with (I assume) colloidal...
Just curious.
Everybody says we must grease sliding surfaces on Garands, M1Aa, &etc.
Not a huge fan of grease... On non-closed mechanisms it tends to get pushed away from where it's needed and must be frequently re-applied.
Also gets and holds dirt, sand, grit, and it's messy. Still...
Update, success!
DON’T copy my loads, they were developed with my components, tools, and techniques. Yours will differ.
170 gr JFP bullets, I believe meant mainly for 30-30 Win., and I heeded Mr. Charlie98’s excellent comment that these probably aren’t meant for Garand pressures or...
Mine has been excellent both reliable and accurate, but it is heavy!
Only real gripe is a .035” gap between upper and lower at rear. It has no practical effect, just doesn’t look right.
Btw just curious, how can a lighter bcg and/or buffer reduce recoil? (Post #2). Lighter bullets or loads?
Basically standard .30-30 bullets, I have a bunch from long ago.
Has anyone tried these in either the Garand (.30-06) or Springfield M1A standard version (.308) rifle? I have BL-C(2) powder.
Any feeding or accuracy or other problems?
Thanks, gbw
It used to be the authority on firearms of all types, both technical and practical. Now it’s a shill for LaPierre and advertisers. I keep membership only because a club I’m in requires it. But I think that requirement will soon go the way of the dinosaurs.
380 for carry makes sense to me only in pistols that are true pocket size and weight. It has adequate in power. As
a civilian I value small size/weight and reliability over everything else. The listed choices are too big for .380 carry guns.
Original LCP Custom (LCP w/good sights & improved...
Mr. Jim makes a good point. Guns are dangerous and unforgiving and easily abused or mis-used. It’s not a material infringement to require those who wish to have them demonstrate basic competence. Every 2 years may be overkill, same interval as driver’s license, or longer, would be more...
Graf’s, but you have to buy a case of 12,000. The $8.50/150 is a great price these days, not available around here.’ I’ll use Fiocchi from now on if I can. I hope for all of us prices keep coming back to somewhere near normal.
Worst Smith I ever had. Mine was a newer one also. Cylinder locked up, back to Smith, again, and again. Gave up and sold it, cheap, and yes I did tell buyer history. One I surly don’t miss. But I’m tempted by the Smith 43c!
I recently tried both of these in 9mm. About 150 rds. each, fps range on my chrono 1050 - 1200, 115 and 124 gr jacketed bullets.
The SA seem hotter, consistently 20ish fps faster than Fiocchi. Good consistent velocity for each.
Both loaded and seated with no problems in an old Dillon RL450...
