I'm using h110, federal small rifle, Sierra 110 gr rn sp, and Remington brass. I have not fired any of them yet. If you are convinced that it could cause a squib, then I don't mind unloading all of them and starting it out at 14.4.
Yes that was helpful.
my only other question is, wouldn't it make sense for me to use the crimp die?
If you saw the previous posts, you see that putting my rounds into battery effects the OAL. To me this is unsettling.
The die at set I have is only a 3 die set. On youtube, a gentleman that reloads the .30 carbine has A lee 4 die set and states that the 4th is the crimp.
could that me why my bullets are moving in battery? I don't believe my 3 die set includes a crimp.
I feel like I get a lot of flack for not having a manual. Keep in mind that before I do anything I do tons of research and have been able to find a lot of good information on hornaday, Lyman, Lee, and RCBS websites. I do quite a bit of homework before I do anything regarding reloading, I just...
Personally, I don't see the need for 2 platforms in each caliber. I'm all for having guns, and having a lot, but my personal experience has been that when my collection gets to a certain point, some guns Start feeling neglected. I would save some $$ on the gun purchases, and invest more in ammo
Would the 3 die set be good? For the .30 carbine i don't plan on using cast. Fmj and plaTed. (BTW which is better? ) I know played can be had for less.
and lost sheep it was the lee 4 die set
Lost sheep,
I don't have dies yet. I'd like to order some tonight. I was looking at the lee 3 die set To be had for around $30.
No forgive me for my lack of knowledge. But since this 3 die set doesn't have a crimp, does the seating die act as the crimp? once the bullet has been seated...
So can someone here (that's reloads .30 carbine) give me some of their recipes and the prices for those components? I'm trying to shoot for as cheap as I can per round, otherwise, I'd just ditch reloading and buy ammo.
I thought I had another posts here, but couldn't find it.
anywayds, I'm leaning towards reloading 30 carbine. I'm a very inexperienced reloader and I have a lee turret press. The only thing I've reloaded is .45 acp. Ive had some crimping issues with that, as when I would reload cast lead...
If you are anything like me, you like to have extra ammo at your disposal "just because". I find comfort in the fact that a good portion of one my closets has a good deal of ammo in it.. a few thousand rounds of mixed caliberes. I'm not sure if I do this for a worst case scenario, but I like...
When i clean my rifles, I usually rub the internals with hoppes cleaner and then run a bore snake down the bore. After these are done I'd like to find some sort of rust preventative I can keep in the bore to prevent rust (with the possibility that gun will be stored untouched over a year)
For...
