Just found it and you are correct. It is for a Jennings /Bryco JA-9. A cheap pistol indeed. I just looked on Ebay and the magazines are half the value of the gun itself.
I looked through the Taurus catalog from day one and it doesn't seem to be one of theirs.
Thanks for the insight though because that led me to Beretta. Italian pistols seem to be the only ones with that downward curve base plate.
Still it doesn't seem to be Beretta either.
I purchased a box lot of old pistol magazines and I could identify them all except this one.
It is 9mm 12 rounds no markings at all. Plastic follower and insert
Any help would be appreciated.
SAXET still has monthly gun shows in Corpus and McAllen but I talked to Todd the other day and he is still trying to negotiate a new venue in San Antonio. Crossing my fingers.
The SAXET show off of Marbach has been on hiatus since June because the property owner gave the event center to his son who wants to make it into a furniture store. No new facility has been found yet. I've been driving to Corpus and the coastal bend every other weekend to work the small shows...
I picked one of these up new in box at the local pawnshop for about $230.
The green cerrakote type finish with white lettering really caught my eye.
And who has enough .22 pistols?
I took it out to the range yesterday and noticed that the magazines are very lightweight plastic.
They are rigid...
You mean cylinders? with those different calibers?
They all pretty much have the same bullet diameter so the barrel isn't a problem.
I've had crap for luck with extra cylinders for my nagant but was told by several people 32 h&R mag works in the original ..although I haven't tried it...
I did full disassembly one time because I thought for sure I could return it to firing condition. I ended up taking a box a parts to my gunsmith who had it back together in about 15 min.
As far as putting the pin in the oval of the rear assembly lever thing...it was infuriating until I...
Also something to take into consideration is the type of bullet used. I carry 148g semi wadcutters in my .38spcl I think that shape would do more damage than a 9mm FMJ
