Hey!
Thought I was on everyone's ignore list or something :D
I ditched the 10round mags, but one other problem mag was a Colt tapered feed mag.
Since then I replaced the extractor, the factory was shorter, the hook closer to the breechface than spec. Running 7 & 8 round mags I'm good.
Why?
I had 2 mags that would not feed or Chamber the 1st two rounds. One wouldn't feed the 1st 2 rounds (CMC POWER 10 ) and one would not feed the last round (Colt Tapered Lip Design)
I did the normal 3 point jam fixes, scraped the chamber mouth and opened the barrel link but discovered...
Another Norinco barrel flanging the lugs.... ouch
Honestly I can't tell by the pics how bad it is but I'd advise not shooting it any more till the problem's corrected.
I first noticed the hammer was a leaner, then noticed I could press it upright a few degrees, then I miked it and noticed both holes were larger than spec, and one moreso and egged... I put the factory parts in the spare parts bin and after needing to send the pistol back for a few other things...
Kuhnhausen notes that the hammer pin holes should be .1575" +.0020" and for comparison the hammer pin should spec .157" - .002"
So the hammer I have in question mikes .161 on one side and between .162" & .1625" on the other... For comparison this one's hammer pin measures .155"
I voiced...
Damn, thought I missed a memo or something
I like Caspian stuff, they are almost a one stop shop.
But then again, buying everything at once with one phone call would be boring in my opinion.
I am one buzy beaver..... no free time in the immediate future.
I've had an unlimited range pass for the NRA since April and have only gone 3 times
I think I need a vacation :scrutiny:
Hrm Snubbyman, that does look like a cool piece, but I don't know how to take the fiber optic front sights, I would guess they are too fragile for a carry gun right? Never had a fiber optic front sight...
Any input on these? Good or Bad? I thinking about a new revolver and while I like my 686s, this one is interesting....http://www.firearms.smith-wesson.com/store/index.php3?cat=407533&item=1207358&sw_activeTab=1
:D Got to the range today anyways :D
Trigger feels nice, I got used to it pretty fast. Feels smoother even now...
I'm still going to leave the hooks at .030 just for peace of mind.... I like having the extra material.
My G.I. model with the dropped in Hard Sear also felt very nice...
