Range report
went to visit a buddy in dallas this weekend to shoot, he is a reloader so I decided to buy a set of dies and reload my own ammo. We used 61 gr IMR 4350, 139 gr SST, bullets and CCI magnum primers. we followed the OAL and case length info in the hornady book. here are the range...
Ya, straight as can be, I actually used my calipers and measured its about .008 closer on one side not even to enough to see. All I did was follow the procedure. The problem was that I couldn't find it in the manual for a bit. you would think the accustock section would be right under the...
when you guys put your scope mounts on with steel bolts into a stainless steel action do you use anti-seize? all this aluminum and steel and stainless steel made me nervous so I put a dot on the end of each of my bolts.
nevermind, I found it on page 31 of the manual.... got everything ready for my range trip this coming weekend :)
Nikon Monarch 2.5-10x42 and DNZ scope mounts.... should be a real tack driver. going to try hornady SST heavy mag ammo
or can someone tell me the correct order to tighten the accustock screws in? when I tightened the front on first it aligns the barrel almost perfectly then tighten the back to main lugs.... but it looks like maybe the action is not down all the way anymore? what order do all you accustock guys...
correct manual
can anyone point me to the correct manual for the Savage center fire with accutrigger and accustock? the only one I can find is without the accustock and even the manual that came with it does not show everything right.
The bolt release is in front of the trigger guard. There are 3 allen screws to undo the stock.
well seeing as I could out shoot them with my 35 year old Montgomery Ward Stevens with a 40 dollar walmart scope that's not saying much :)
The stock is definitely an Accustock it has the very nice...
Look I'm not knocking the rifle. I would not have bought it if it wasn't what I have wanted. But I want it to be right. I want it to look as good as it shoots not like someone has taken the dremel tool to it. I hunt with guys that shoot kimbers and sakos and abolts. The last thing I need is...
This is more the suggestion I was expecting. If I can't pay 700 dollars for a rifle and not have a straight stock I don't want it. Was just wondering what everyone else did. Sanding the one side doesn't help the 1/8 inch gap on the other side.
I just got a new in the box Savage 116 FHSAK in 7mm RM. The bore was nasty so I got out the Hoppe's elite and got it all shiny. Then I noticed barrel is not sitting in the center of the stock on the fore end. So much in fact that there is a large gap on one side and the barrel is nearly...
I have a buddy who won a weatherby vanguard in 7mm rem mag and said he would sell it to me for $300. I tried to look up the model but had no luck, it is "blued" but has a green synthetic stock. what model is this? he tells me its unfired. He is a lefty and the gun is right handed. Is it...
