Not thrilled
Ive got a Rossi Wizard, my primary choice for a barrel was .22-250 for long range plinking; with MCA's chamber insert, I can use the same barrel for .22 Hornet. (I got into .22 Hornet with his barrel inserts for .410s).
I picked up a .45-70 barrel, and some Winchester Super X soft...
3d
Yeah,
I've been hearing about the 3D programs for CAM repros of the AR lower receiver.
I assumed that with all the places that machine parts "as needed" for tooling, this would be as easy as calling a custom polymer parts manufacturer.
But nobody seems to do that, or I don't know how to...
Make it easier
Still fishing for a clue.
It doesn't have to be Zytel (or even polymer).
If I had the dimensions drawn out and wanted it in ..aluminum...
Somebody must have conceptualized a part that would make something work.
How would you get it machined, molded, extruded (etc) if the...
Scout scope on Garand
Baz,
I need the same type of scope mount for the same reason.
I'm old, my Garand is a tanker (.308) - so its authenticity is speculative to begin with - and I love shooting it.
But I'd like to go back to hitting my targets.
Which mount so you have?
What are the...
M14/m16
I'd never speak ill of the M14.
I was in country 6 weeks when we turned in our M14s. Those of us with combat MOSs had been trained on the new weapon, and it seemed pretty cool at Ft. Ord. But having it handed to me in VN was disconcerting. In our particular location, a battle rifle...
Tapco's introduction of the adaptor to replace thumbhole stocks (with the no lower tang) with a tube to use AR-type tubes on milled receivers was a breakthrough for me, but not because I want to use an AR stock on my AK.
I'm a disabled vet. The limp and numbness in my hands has degenerated into...
Looking good; looking silly.
The Zombie comment is the one that hit home. I like good looking guns. Tactical guns, collector gems, innovative designs. But I hear too many grown men talking about "zombies" a little too seriously. It's disturbing.
Being out at the range and seeing all the...
With the enormous new increase in firearms ownership in CA, I'm overwhelmed by the people who've been begging me to take them shooting - these are people, many of whom were vehemently anti-gun, five years ago, most have never fired a gun in their life!
But with the silly "bullet-button"...
Belated response
I have to confess that I'm really picky about light triggers. A crisp 4-5lbs is OK, but a long DA pull? Even the 3.5 comp. trigger on my Glock 30 was too much - I got rid of it.
I've always needed a light trigger for accuracy, but a real-life "old war wound" to my spinal cord...
Gunsmiths won't touch Ruger products
I tend to get a trigger job on just about every firearm I buy, even my Berretta 92FS - which has the reputation as one of the best pistols available in terms of out-of-the-box trigger pull. Mine was horrible.
But my gunsmith said there was nothing he could...
Compromising the two 7.62x39mms
What Bushpilot said about the difference in diameter within the same caliber is a the reason I shy away from the Mini-30, ARs in 7.62X39 or any other non-Russian design.
I'm not a Russian gun fanatic, but I've owned several AKs and SKSs.
U.S. manufacturers...
K- Hornet
Guntech, that K-Hornet is nice!
You call it a 'low wall' - what does that translate to in laymen's terms? Like 'brand and model'?
I'm going thru seller's remorse over the CZ ZBK 110 I just sold. I got a good price, but I'd refund it and pay return shipping to get it back.
I was...
That's it!
Yep!
That's the one!
Looking at it now, the CZ 512 does have the same lines. But the lower receiver is polymer - maybe a graphite laminate or a polycarbonate resin: whatever it is, the directions warn against cleaning the gun with any of the standard solvents.
Thanks for the info!
I don't understand the European distinctions for name recognition, specifically in differentiating a CZ Brno from a Brno. I saw an ad for a Brno .22 WMR semi-auto rifle - I can't remember the model, but it was nothing like the new CZ 512.
This rifle was discontinued, years ago, but then I saw...
I have a guy, now, who's trying to convince me that I can sell him my AK modified SKS with a C&R. I can't do it, but at least he has the etiquette to ask. (tho, to be honest, I'm not even listing it right now.) I sold some AKs in front of some glass displays where potential buyers must have...
Yes, maybe we could have worked out some legal technicality. But someone who wasn't trying to play me for the fool would have run his idea by me before he closed my auction. We had pre-sale correspondence. He could have brought it up. I hate the ban on hi-caps too. I would have listened.
Oh Happy Day!
Wow!
Maybe GB.com participates in these discussions!
I just rec'd an email telling me that my vandal's feedback has been removed!
I retract everything I said about the integrity of that fine establishment.
I am going to follow thru with my NPB report. As I said, I don't care...
Maybe I've overstated how upset I am.
I realize it will all work out; I've - overall - had a positive relationship with Gunbroker.com, too.
I understand the process. It's just that, after this, I'm not going to have that much to sell. The effect of the 'D' won't matter that much in 90 days...
