Tarosean, they usually do have checkpoints at chokepoints close to cities. You are required to pull over whether or not you harvested something, however, I'm sure a number of people pass right on by.
Thanks for the comments! Glad to have contributed to wolf management :)
It looks like the...
Thanks for the comments. Some of the comments don't surprise me at all. Some people don't realize how dominant wolves are as predators. Their numbers do need to be kept in check. What I've heard from my Alaskan buddies is once they are hunted for X amount of time they become pretty smart and...
I figured I would share this video with you guys/gals. Got a nice gray wolf last weekend (10/22) up here in Montana. I literally was just sitting on a stump waiting around for a nice buck to trot by into the clearing I was by. I kept on hearing a couple wolves in the distance howling, not...
I have this shotgun (http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/shotguns/model-870/model-870-express-synthetic-7-round.aspx), and the magazine tube only holds five 2 3/4 shells even though the magazine tube is the same length as the barrel. I thought it could carry seven. I inherited the gun...
I've never had a problem with coyotes but I am prepared for one. I hear plenty of packs up here in Montana in the woods yelping towards night usually. Wolves are a more serious threat.. I'm not saying coyotes arent a threat though.
I'm leaving mine the way it is. IT has a somewhat beat up stock, but all of the metal parts on the gun look mint. I added buttstock extension, trigger job, and techsight and love it. I think I'll get rid of my AK since I can shoot this so much more accurately.
I have the same feelings about my CZ550's walnut stock. I baby it. But, I figure I bought it to use it and a few scratches eventually wont be a huge deal. I'll still use my pre-Accutrigger Savage 110 in thick brush though.
I use the same holster wow6599 recommended. They hold the gun securely even through the thickest brush, and cover up the muzzle which is important when going through thick brush IMO.
Because the slide is cut into on compensated glocks right? So if you bought a normal glock the aftermraket barrel would have to be longer than stock length.
I carry my glock 20 SF /w 200 gr hardcasts up here in Montana. I hike through some pretty brushy areas, and wade through a lot of water. I feel the grooves in the barrel *might* compromise reliability. Plus, I can handle the glock 20 uncompensated just fine.
