    who doesn't count rounds?

I didn't count rounds when I first got into shooting, but now I do. I use it, like a previous poster mentioned, to know when to replace springs and other high wear parts. I also find it interesting to see how many rounds certain firearms can fire before parts break, or before there are signs of...

    317 Kit Gun

They are Patridge sights, not partridge, a partridge is a bird, a Patridge sight is for revolvers, named after the man who invented that style of sight. Sorry, I just had to say something, this is just one of my many pet peeves.

Best shotgun stock to put in front of a jury?

I voted for the wood stock. However, that being said, it shouldn't really matter. A good shoot is a good shoot. If you were truly, clearly justified in shooting an intruder, and you didn't break any laws, it is unlikely you'd be charged with anything anyway, even in a predominantly anti-gun area.

What Made You Decide To Carry?

I grew up shooting, at least during the summer, since my parents didn't have any firearms in the home(my mother believed the old lie about a gun in the home being more likely to injure or kill a family member, but she now knows better). I spent my summers with my Grandparents in Montana. My...

    1911 Magazines of Choice

I use Metalform and Checkmate 7 round magazines exclusively, and of course Colt factory mags, which are actually made by Checkmate and Metalform!

Truth time! What do you carry?

This is what I carry the majority of the time. My old S&W M60 .38 Spl. It's just a very easy gun for me to carry, so there is really no excuse not carry it. I'd still like to get an Airweight though, but I can never find a nice pre-lock one for sale at a reasonable price when I actually...

    WOW!!!!!!! What a deal!!!!!!!

RickH- I'm a "dry sider", so the shop I am thinking of is in Spokane, well Spokane Valley actually. I don't live there anymore, but I still go there to visit sometimes.

    WOW!!!!!!! What a deal!!!!!!!

I only know of one pawn shop that has good prices on guns, and that is only because they are a pawn shop that specializes in guns, and they are knowledgable about firearms. All the other pawn shops I have been into are hit and miss, mostly miss.

Very intresting test, is that a gun or a cell phone?

Game Over Your Score: 475 Average reaction time: Black Armed:803.76ms Black Unarmed:794.16ms White Armed:823.44ms White Unarmed:807.04ms So, what's it mean, besides the fact I am a good bit slower than many of you.

    Hidden Gun Stores

The closest FFL to me is also a liquor store. He doesn't have many guns in stock though, he mostly just does transfers. He has some ammo and a few accessories, but not much. Years ago there used to be a Pharmacy/Gun Shop and a Furniture Upolstery/Gun Shop in my area. The local hardware store...

    My new .22 pistol!

I just got back from the range. I tried 6 different kinds of ammo, and fired a total of 450 rounds. It functioned flawlessly with all the ammo I tried. I fired: 100 rds. CCI Mini-Mags 50 rds. CCI Standard Velocity 100 rds. Federal Bulk HP's 100 rds. Remington Bulk Golden Bullets 50 rds...

can a browning buck mark 22 be fired "single shot" without a magazine?

My new Buck Mark Camper had a mag disconnect. Notice I said had, it is very simple to remove. Make sure the pistol is empty, of course. Then remove the right grip panel, be careful though since the grip panel holds a couple parts in place. You will see a long wire that is hooked onto the trigger...

I call BS...Lefties shooting Right handed.

I'm all messed up! I'm right handed, left eye dominant, but I find I can do many things equally well with either hand. I can shoot pistols equally well with either hand, but I aim with my left eye regardless of which hand I'm using. This is because my left eye also has better vision than my...

    My new .22 pistol!

Well, I wanted a Ruger Mark II (I hate the lawyered up features on the Mark III's), but I couldn't find one like I wanted. I was getting very frustrated after checking all the online auction sites, and classifieds, and then visiting about six different gun shops and pawn shops without any luck...

    Savage Arms: Politically Correct Today?

Savage Arms is named for the founder, Arthur Savage. As for the Indian head logo, I found this on the Savage Arms website. To this day Savage rifles are still very popular with many American Indians I know (I live on an Indian Reservation), and not just because they are affordable, but...

    Whats yours?

I am like many others here in that I don't advertise to people I don't know that I have guns. If it does come up, I usually get the "How many guns do you have?" question. My usual response to that is "More than I need but less than I want!" That usually ends the discussion right there. If they...

    Left Eye Dominant

I'm the same way, and it's just not an issue when shooting pistols. I just tilt my head slightly to bring my left eye in line with the pistol's sights. I shoot both eyes open without trouble. However, with rifles it is getting worse. I used to be able to shoot just fine by keeping both eyes...

    AR-15 or M1A

M1A, I'm just not much of an AR fan. I've owned two AR's and , although they were ok rifles, I just couldn't warm up to them, so they got sold.
