I seem to remember that you sight in at two hundred yards, then you would loosen the screw on the drum and turn the drum until the 200 is lined up on the line retighten the screw. then you can either turn the drum or hold under a little. If i rember right this is called Battle Sight Zero.
If you still think it's not right and you don't want to upset CMP send it to me for testing and evaluation:evil: seriously go to either CSP guntalk or the Garand Collectors Assc. for books on the M-1 and then shoot it!!
I used to have a Springfield Ultra-compact/High capacity and thought to it was to big for my grip, so i bought a G-36. Turns out they are about the size or there about in grip size, got rid of the G-36 and bought a Government 1911 and never looked back. That said try one on for size and balance...
Well i don't know about others but i would forgive her about the incident and would encourage her to continue shooting, that said be careful on how you do it as it could turn her off to shooting and you! If you feel that you can't trust her but for other reasons then i can't help you sorry.
I don't know of others but i have used Smiths for work on my Garand when it wouldn't cycle and they went over it and fixed it and now it shoots fine:D I would not hesitate to recomend them.
You could have hit on the problem with the side saddle, maybe it was binding up the action. Try it with it not so tight and tighten up a little at a time, when it binds up back off a little. Good luck and let us know how it works out.
Well you should'nt worry about Qatar getting snowed in:D I know what you mean if i didn't have a job where i shoot every quarter i wouldn't get out to shoot on my own, due to schedules and all:cuss: But hey at least you made it out to shoot.
