A challenge.....

Imagine a scenerio where you are able to have, due to either finances, the Government, your spouse, whatever, only 4 firearms. One rifle, one pistol, one shotgun, and one rimfire (either rifle or pistol).

This would have to cover all uses, from hunting to self defence, CCW, home protection and SHTF zombie-apes-aleins-UN whatever situation.

Yeah, I know, the concept of only 4 firearms sucks, but I am curious what people would choose.

What would the four firearms be? They would have to be the most versatile possible, ofcourse.

So what would your choices be?

This is fairly intresting. Bolt actions beating out semi-autos, .30-06 & .308 beating out 5.56, and most people choosing 1911s and .357 revolvers.

Shotgun: Legacy Escort Aimguard 12ga 7+1 pump. It looks like a plasticized 870.

Rifle: Probably a .30-06 bolt with a good scope. Dont own one though.

Rifire: Marlin mod 60. Damn if they aint heavy though. I need to get a .22 too.

Do I HAVE to have a rimfire? If so...

Rifle: Custom FAL type built on DSA type II receiver. 21" chrome lined or stainless steel, standard contour, bipod-cut barrel. Black synthetic bipod-cut handguards, Penguin humpback buttstock, Ergo G3-type grip. Extended magazine release, possibly Para-type adjustable rear sight (don't know how much use I'd get out of the irons past 200 or 300 meters anyway, and I'd prefer the sight be protected by wings). DSA scope mount, and one of their 4x24mm scopes (.308, NATO reticle). 50x twenty round magazines (all steel, none with the holes in them). DSA quick detach light bipod.

Shotgun: Mossberg 590A1, parkerized, ghost ring sights, bayonet lug. Shorter "Bantam) stock. 12 gauge.

Rimfire: Browning Buck Mark "Camper" model, .22LR, 5.5" barrel.

Handgun: Hmm...geez, only ONE pistol? That's tough. Probably, though? Ruger GP100, 4", stainless steel, possibly Target Gray. .357 Magnum, adjustable sights.
