If you want to stick with the Leek there's a ZDP-189 sprint run. Dead set on cutting cardboard and other abrasive materials then I'd consider the Shallot in s110v (if you want to stick with Kershaw) or a Spyderco Delica in Aogami Super Blue.
If you go larger you open yourself up to a wider...
Perhaps a waved Spyderco in a speeddialer kydex sheath? Delica is smaller though the Matriarch 2 and Endura in FRN are pretty solid self-defense options. I've carried my ghetto-waved Tasman salt almost every time I've gone running and it never prints/gets in the way. Most of my running shorts...
If this was S30V or better I'd bite in a heartbeat. This is definitely on my list, but like M-Cameron, $100 is a little rich for my blood if it's only AUS-8. I think I'd pay $180 if it was ZDP or one of those newer CTS steels.
Gotta second the Manix. I sniped a Manix 2 on ebay for $55 many months ago, and I've been edcing it every day since. Occasionally I'll rotate in a newer blade, but I consistently find myself returning to the Manix. It's just so comfortable in my hand and it takes anything I throw at it, be it...
Seconding dayhiker on the Fallkniven. Might have to push your budget up by $10-20 if there aren't any good sales. Still worth it for an extremely well built VG-10 blade.
And I know it's black, but for what you're looking to do, a Becker Bk2 would really fit the bill. You can find them for...
CRKT now has two knives at the top of my list, the other being the Eraser (and honestly I wouldn't mind getting the black and the satin finished models) Still need a Spyderco M390 PM2 so I've got a lot of thinking to do. I wish CRKT would use some better steels in these knives, though in S30V I...
It's a little large for what you want, but I got my Spyderco Manix 2 for about $50 on ebay. If you don't mind japan, the Delica and Dragonfly would certainly fit the bill.
The delrin handles kinda look like horn, and the U.S. made ones are still pretty cheap on ebay. This is one of the best sub-$50 skinners I've handled. More recently I've picked up a chinese version and an old hickory skinner for $14 total. Both are great beaters, and the old hickory takes a...
Yep, these are their budget Chinese models. They compete in the same price point that the Byrd/Tenacious family resides though I'd rather have the Spydercos (blade geometry and the heat treat seem a hair better, and I prefer the Spyderco G-10, but that's just me nitpicking). Still I think these...
About on par with the woot deal a few weeks ago where the compound and a few others were only $12.99. This has free shipping though so the deal is about equal to what I paid. (Compound and Tremor $12.99 each +$5 shipping). The compound is a great knife for the money, and probably my favorite...
They all look great. Especially diggin the wharncliffe. Seems like it'd be great for kitchen prep. The spacers (especially on the drop point) are a nice touch. Also interested in a general ball park for the 1084 and the 52100 models.
Keys, wallet, OG Droid (pictured is my old one that died on me recently, using a refurbed one until the Droid 4 drops, hopefully at the end of the month), Rolex Submariner (14060), Sanrenmu 704 (8Cr13MoV; not always in current rotation, sometimes I've used it as a money clip since it's so tiny)...
It depends on what was worn with the chain mail. If you're talking some light padding/clothes, then it will only stop blades and most broad head arrows. As said before bodkin arrows were effective against chain mail. They look like stretched out square pyramids and are usually only slightly...
I got my 154CM Manix 2 from ebay for $50. Para2's for under $100, Gayle Bradleys and Lum Chinese folders too if you're lucky. (The last two are liner locks, but worth a look)
IMHO you should buy a Manix2 in 154CM. Get a krein regrind if you really need the FFG. BD30P is a little nicer but...
I think the old ones had a somewhat decent steel, but the new stuff is mostly cheap chinese steel with a carbide coating on the tips. Either way you're probably better off with an old file/rasp.
