Many questions arise from tragedy yet few have the courage to seek an honest response. So we seek the easy path and immediately blame those who didn’t do it. Maybe that’s human nature since it continues to repeat with predictable results making the underlying problem worse...
Any insight into a Bill Wilson Carry vs. a Dan Wesson CCO for IWB carry? Found a very nice used BWC and a new DW CCO for $1000 less. Kinda like the Wilson, but spending that much money might be a problem. Spending $1400 on the DW might be a problem, but I'd like to do it right the first time...
Thanks for any critique:
It's Not About Guns
The Right to Keep and Bear Arms. What does that mean? Why is it important?
“A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall...
I think I "need" a traditional looking .22LR lever action. Do you think that the Winchester will ever make a comeback or will Marlin ever make a straight-stock .22LR lever action? If so they'd sell at least one.
Thanks for any ideas. I'm putting a bit of a project together and need a one-liner that truly captures the essense of the whole hunting, fishing, RKBA thing.
Thank you very much.
Does anyone use personal defense ammo only, to include at the range? I'm rethinking range ammo on the assumption that it's maybe "better" to do all practice with carry ammo.
Prolly not a wrong answer, but just encouraging a discussion on the matter.
Thanks.
I wonder to what extent shot placement with a standard load 9mm, for example, is significantly more important than 9mm +P or "moving up" a bit more to .40. I currently have no 9mm or .40 and would like to keep it nice and simple. Having 124 gr. AE or WWB along with some standard 124 gr. Gold...
I think that the next one's a CZ 75B, but can't decide between a 9 or .40. My carry guns are usually a 1911 or .38 and I have no 9mm or .40 cal. (or any other auto other than my cmdr. sized 1911). It's kinda just to have a somewhat hi-cap auto.
Is the CZ generally originally made around...
My only hole is a 9mm and I can't figure out which to get. I don't even "need" one so maybe a nice range/all-purpose gun would do the trick. Maybe a Browning, Sig, CZ 75 (there's a nice custom one in the shop), Beretta 92FS...
What's your favorite 9mm that'll serve pretty much no purpose...
Looking for a .22LR for the tots and can't decide between the Henry Youth, the new Youth Golden Boy or the cool Carbine with large loop. Any help for a brutha? Don't tell anyone it's really for me.
I'm in a massive streamlining mode and thought that I could reduce my calibers one more time by selling the M4'gery and replacing it with a Marlin 1894C (.357 Mag). That would make my shelf a lovely selection of .357 Mag, .40, .45 and .22LR (and lots of it).
Feel free to discuss if you...
I have a bunch of fmj (158 gr.), hp (125 gr.) and sjhp (158 gr.) .357 magnum. Are any of these types of ammo potentially problematic in a .357 mag lever gun?
Thanks.
Just brought my PM40 out for the first time. 100% flawless in every way. Figured that 155 grainers made sense out of a short barrel. Shot great, but was quite ferocious. All was well, but I'm concerned about wear-and-tear on the gun. Can the PM40 take a beating or would maybe a heavier...
Is there any real-world difference, really, between a 165 gr. .40 and a 124 gr. +P 9mm, let's say in a Gold Dot?
Just trying to rationalize streamlining calibers. I guess a 230 gr. .45 is the ultimate answer to the question, but that's another thread.
If one were to get a Springfield M1A Scout and a Savage 12FVSS (in .308), for example, would they both take the same exact ammo (like maybe a Federal 168 gr. boat tail or something like that)?
Apologies in advance if that's just a brutal question.
Thanks.
