My only hole is a 9mm and I can't figure out which to get. I don't even "need" one so maybe a nice range/all-purpose gun would do the trick. Maybe a Browning, Sig, CZ 75 (there's a nice custom one in the shop), Beretta 92FS...
What's your favorite 9mm that'll serve pretty much no purpose? Leaning towards a CZ or Beretta. No accessory rails please.

I'm a Sig fan. I have a 228 and a 225 (single stacked version of the 228). I'd like to pick up a 226 and 239 to round out my Sig 9mm collection.
I've shot numerous other guns and still like Sigs.

For a range gun I'd get something like a Sig 226. Form your list, a CZ75 would be fun. They have pretty good triggers and ergos are great (admittedly even better than Sig).
The Beretta 92 always seemed too bulky for me...

Go find a range that rents guns and just shoot some to see what you like.

Over the years, I have owned Sigs of all flavors, CZs, Berettas, Taurii, HiPowers, Rugers, Glocks, and S&Ws (third gen and M&Ps). All were fine weapons that will serve you well. But my 'keeper' 9mms are all of the 1911 variety, these days.

You have to decide which ones point the best for you. Most folk think that the BHP and CZ are the most comfortable to point and shoot, but you have to try them yourself.

Hmmm...
All-purpose: CZ 75/85; CZ P01; Taurus PT 92 or Beretta 92; Springfield XD9; Smith M&P9; 1911-platform 9mm; Ruger SR9; various Sig models... lots to choose from.

If you narrow it down to mostly/nearly all range duty, the scale tips toward the all-steel guns. The CZ is near the tops of that list for me. A 1911 would be there, but I can't find one at the price point I live in ~$500.

If it leans toward carry duty, then the poly framed guns start to look promising.

I guess consider what niche the gun will fill most of the time, and work to that solution.

Q

No one has mentioned the Walther line?

P.38
P1
P4
P5 (the best of the bunch, by far)
P88
P99
PPS

It's tough to top the history and dependability of these fine firearms.

hands down my favorite 9mm is the HK P9s target...if you have never shot one...its an amazing experence

next would be HK UPS Elite, then P7M8, then Hi Power

I got a sig 226 cpo for under 600 with 4 mags. Best purchase I ever made. It's my favorite pistol.

Searcher - thanks for being willing to go where others fear. My first handgun was a P38 and they are my favorite to this day. A fine carry in the woods gun.

Choice # 2 G34.

It would be a 3 way tie between my nickel West German SIG 226, Italian Beretta 92FS, or the HK P7. All 3 are excellent pistols.

1. CZ P-01
2. Browning Hi Power Practical made in Belgium

Haven't shot any other 9mm's, but I doubt any of the others would impress me as much as the above.

I don't have a pic of my newest (and most favorite) Smith & Wesson model
39-2 up on this forum yet; but it definitely has too be this one, that is in
UNFIRED status, in the original dark blue box with silver lettering, an extra
unused magazine, tools, warranty card, spec sheet, and other paperwork.

I hope to have a pic up of this one real soon~! ;)

FYI- forget about the magazine disconnect on these firearms; as I can tell
you a story about these actually saving a police officers life.

My favorites are the HK P7, HK P2000sk and the Kahr T9. All are soft shooting, accurate, high quality compact 9mms. While compact, they are still adequate range guns.
