Why is the 5.56/.223 still so popular?

5.56/.223 is the 22lr of the centerfire world.

    .224 Valkyrie

My first thought when I heard about it was "Why not 6mm?". I reload for 6x45 and love it. I just need more time for it. I also am interested in the 5.7mm Johnson. I'm looking at a rifle I'm interested in, and of course I'll need dies. I also think an AR platform 30 Carbine would be great.

    RIP RC Model sad news

I'm so sorry to hear this. He was an inspiration. I had little interaction with him, but enjoyed his wisdom and whit many times. R.I.P.

How about the $75 dollar revolver I scored

I don't know anything about the INAs, but I would have bought that too. I'm kind of watching for a .32 cal DA revolver for a decent price. Prefer a magnum over a long or short If I can find a deal.

    165g 9MM for Pistol & Carbine

What velocities would you expect from this load in a 16" carbine?

    Rossi revolver

It is the Rossi Braztech (sp?) and has a hammer lock. Looks old, but I believe it sat in a wet toolbox, or tackle box for a while.

    Rossi revolver

What is the "blue" finish on the Rossi .38 snub ? My neighbor has his dads old gun that was kept in a toolbox. The finish looks like it's peeling off where it rusted. It looks more like a coated finish rather than bluing. Probably not "worth" refinishing but it was his dads.

I have an opportunity to play with an FR-8

They are good guns. It would be a shame to have it bubba'd. I'm sure someone would trade him a more appropriate shooter to save it.

What is your most fun gun?

The most fun guns I've shot had to be the FA Subguns. Grease Gun, and PPSH at the top of the list. Unfortunately they are not mine. The most fun guns I have would be my Grendel P30 .22 magnum 30 shot pistol, .357 magnum S&W models 60 and 66, and my .45 ACP cal carbines that take grease gun mags.

    First Focal Plane

I really like the Vipers but that's not in my budget right now. The scope I'm looking at is a Hakko that's made in Japan for about half the Vipers price. I've heard they are high quality. It even has 60 moa adjustment. I just don't care for the mil/moa combo. Would getting the turrets...

    First Focal Plane

I'm looking at FFP scopes to use on a couple high power rifles. I came across a FFP with mildot reticle and MOA turrets. I would prefer mil/mil, or even moa/moa. Does the mil/MOA combo defeat the FFP benefits, or just make it "different" ?

Just what the masses were crying out for- a .380 carbine!

I like the Hipoint carbines but this one leaves me scratching my head. I would like to see them produce carbines in .357 Sig, 400 CorBon, and 10mm.

A bump in the night, you grab your 1911 ...

Cocked and locked. Thumb safety engaged. Thumb positioned on top of safety, ready to disengage. Trigger finger on side of frame, above trigger. I carry a 1911 every day. It's within reach every night.

    Bought a Hi-Point Carbine

I've seen first time shooters at a pistol range making one hole groups off hand with a laser attached.

    .338 Federal AR-10 8" SBR Project

I didn't realize the 338 Federal had a 308 Winchester parent case. Did you give any consideration to the 358 Winchester ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.358_Winchester

    Bought a Hi-Point Carbine

Take it out and shoot it then report back. You'll probably find, like most, why they are so well liked by people that have actually shot them.

Have a rem 700 6mm. What can it become?

Sell it and buy exactly what you want. That rifle is probably exactly what someone else wants.

    Cobray M12 380

Maybe the 12- indicates model number and the serial is starting with the 00. 2000 production?
