Which 1911? TLE, VALOR, TRP, TAC OPS, LAW MAN

    I favor DW myself.

    New 9mm Shield

From what I understand the Shield is rated for +p ammo. They just state that excessive use can lead to wear. I don't know many folks that practice excessively with +p stuff.

    New 9mm Shield

Thinking about picking up one of these myself. It seems that most folks who own the Shield absolutely love it.

New shoes for the Dan wesson

Olympus, those are awesome. I love the fine burled woods on 1911's.

    A detailed "which 1911" thread.

I am a Dan Wesson guy myself. I own a DW VBOB in duty treated finish and it is not finicky at all. I am sure all three are excellent weapons.

    Sig m400 or Colt LE6920?

Go with the Colt. At least that is what I would do. I own firearms made by each company. They both make high quality weapons but I think the 6920 is a tried and true weapon built to military specs and is hard to be beat for the money. If you want an AR that is on par or better you could...

Kahr PM 9 vs. Kahr MK9

To me when it comes to pistols in this size range it all boils down to comfort of carry, that is as long as they function well. In my opinion, when you are considering weapons of this size, the purpose is for concealed carry maybe even pocket carry. The PM9 will work well in about any type of...

    Best PRODUCTION 1911, a poll

Colt has the history and is a well built gun but Dan Wesson makes the best production 1911 's on the market today. They are not much of a step down from an Ed Brown or Wilson.

    Dan Wesson Valor

Don't think you will regret the purchase. I have a VBOB in the black duty treated finish. It is a fine production 1911. Maybe the best production 1911 on the market.

    300 WSM Opinions

I have one in a Browning X-bolt. One of the best things about it is the fact that you can carry a light compact rifle with magnum power without knocking your shoulder off when shooting. I really, really like mine.

    Commanders

I am a big Dan Wesson fan. It may be tough to get one for $1200 though. In my opinion, they are about as good as you can get for a production 1911. DW only produces around 4000 guns a year so they can be hard to locate.

    First time AR-15 buying advice

You can never go wrong with a Colt LE6920. It may be a frog hair over your $1000 mark though but not by a lot.

    which mag caliber....

If your hunt is going to consist of a lot of hiking I would recommend a 300 WSM. The shorter action means a smaller, lighter weight rifle but still with lots of punch.

Help me pick a deer/elk gun

Sheepdog, the 7mm mag is a heck of a round also. I have actually done more hunting with this round than any other round. It is very effective on medium to large game and shoots a long way with a thump. Hard to argue with that choice also.

Help me pick a deer/elk gun

You shouldn't have trouble with the 06. In my mind it is one of the best rounds ever developed. Recoil is not bad but it will be heavier than a 308. If it bothers you get a good Past shoulder recoil pad for bench shooting. I have one that I use when bench shooting a 7.5 lb(scope and all) 300...

    Best Shoulder Recoil Pad?

The Past Shield works like a dream. It turns a 300 WSM's recoil into a 25-06 while bench shooting.

    vanguard or x-bolt

You made a great decision, especially for that price. Browning builds solid, good shooting rifles.

You Have $1,200....Which AR Would You GET and WHY?

If you want a Colt I would buy a Colt. They build solid AR's and as a matter of fact some of the best available. You also can't argue with the fact that it is a Colt and will always be desired by the masses which in turn means a higher resale value if you ever decide to let it go.

    Scope magnification?

Orange, it is hard to beat the tried and true 3-9x40 for all around use. I don't think you will regret your purchase.

    Scope magnification?

Never have seen the Need for the ultra high magnification scopes. Now my rifles are all used for hunting. I have 3-9's on every one of them except my 300 WSM which has a 3.5-10 on it. When you get into those high powered scopes you usually get into adjustable objectives which in my opinion...
