    Curio & Relic

I've just renewed my C&R for the 3rd time. It's been well worth the money.

    45LC vs 357mag

I like both but voted for the 45LC since it's what I always carry in the woods and I enjoy shooting it better than the 357. Handloading is a must.

Why no revolvers in .40 S&W?

It would be cool to have more options for revolvers but most things are produced to make money, so the demand has to be there.

    lee autoprime handle broke

It happened to me. I replaced it on my next Midway USA order for about $4. They sell all the piece parts.

Free reloading instructions and reloading data

That's a good collection of links for reloading. Here's one of my favorites: http://www.reloadammo.com/reload.htm

Energy vs. "Knockdown" for lever guns and bolt guns ...

Here's a good read discussing knockdown power vs pure energy data, written by Linebaugh. It's primarily written for handgun hunting but provides a good point of view on knockdown power in general. I like the simple calculation it provides for comparing different cartridges...

Thanks for the all the feedback. I think I'll go with Unique and a good taper crimp as jmortimer suggested.

45 LC Load (Ruger) - 230 Grain XTP

I need to use up some Hornady 230 grain XTP bullets in my Ruger Blackhawk 45 Colt and I'm not finding a lot of useful loading data for this bullett from the manuals I have and some of the better internet sources. I want to develop the load to produce a minimun of 1000 FPS. The powders that I...

Who makes the best insulated coveralls?

I've had my Walls for 15 years. I now only wear them if it's very cold during hunting season. They keep me warm and I don't think they are ever going to wear out. No matter the brand, a good fit is probably the key.

My wife wants a gun!! Maybe.

My wife never had any desire to shoot much but after trying out a .380auto, she decided that it wasn't so bad. I think I'll have her try some 38 specials in my 357 next to see how that works for her. As others have stated, I'd never recommend anyone count on .25 or .32 if it's for SD. Keep...

I recorded it but haven't watched it yet. I had thought about not recording this one but it sounds like it might be worth watching.

    What's considered cheap ammo?

The wolf ammo I've used states on the box that's it's non-corrosive with berdan primers, so I hope it is in fact non-corrosive. I don't think it is because I've waited a couple of weeks to clean and never had any problems yet.

    What's considered cheap ammo?

I agree that Reloading is a hobby in itself and a great one at that! Since the OP mentioned SKS, I want to mention that for me the 7.62x39 is the ONLY round that I don't reload. This is because my SKS is just used for plinking and I just plink away with the $5/box Wolf ammo. If I ever want...

    Question about a Nagant Revolver.

I bought one several years ago after getting my C&R license. I had my doubts about using regular .32 revolver ammo but tried it and didn't have any problems other than slightly bulged cases. I didn't think the cases would be reloadable after that, so I threw them away. I've since been bought...

    Cowboy action questions

The SASS website and forum has a lot of great information. I took the easy way out. Here's what I use for CAS: Ruger Vaqueros in 38/357 Marlin 1894CB in 38/357 (although I use .38s, the magazine will hold 10 rounds of .357) Stoeger 12 gage with internal hammers I like the looks of the...

Traveling with gun – visit to Mexico

. and why in the world would he want to do that? nalioth - I wasn't suggesting doing a transfer of ownership, only suggesting contacting a knowledgable contact in the area for some advice on traveling across the border and back in that location. I guess they should just contact you since...

    New Axe or Hatchet

I love my Estwing but I've been looking at some of the Gerber hatchets. I like the Gator model that has a knife in the handle. The Gerber hatchet was used in the recent move "A Perfect Getaway", which is a pretty good suspense movie for those that haven't seen it.
