I've been bouncing around and I keep hearing about C&R FFL's, but I honestly have no idea how one would go about obtaining such a licence. Anyone care to enlighten me?
Way I figure it the C&R licence will be cheaper in the long run than having the weapons shipped to an FFL.
im looking into one myself but doesn't it give the atf permission to search you?

I've just renewed my C&R for the 3rd time. For C&R, there is no requirement for a bound book or the record keeping that's required for FFL holders, although keeping records is always a good idea. It's been well worth the money.
There most certainly is. But no need to purchase one. Numbered pages in a three ring binder satisfy the requirement. For C&R, there is no requirement for a bound book
C&R (Type 03) FFLs are clearly required to maintain a bound book. Suggesting otherwise is simply incorrect and dangerous. For C&R, there is no requirement for a bound book or the record keeping that's required for FFL holders, although keeping records is always a good idea.
Q: Are licensed collectors required to execute ATF Form 4473 for transactions in curio or relic firearms?
No. Licensed collectors are only required to keep a “bound book” record.
