opinions on BHP compact "detective" slide

I just picked up two FM Detectives to compliment my BHP full size. So far, they are very nice shooting, reliable weapons.

Why buy pistols that don't work?

I've had Glocks, Berettas, a CZ, a Ruger .357, Dan Wesson .357 (both revolvers), Taurus revolvers, Bersas, an old S&W revolver, and I've finally settled into 3 1911s and a Browning Hi Power. For me the 1911 style is the best. I've had no problems, but I'm just using stock models with no mods to...

    What do you fear?

I recently had a knife accident and almost cut my left index finger off. So I guess knives right now.

    9mm vs. .45 sidearms

I don't buy into the mythical stories about .45s, such as the one mentioned, but I do know people associated with law enforcement who have told me the .45 is better. They know more about it than I do.

What's the best war movie ever made?

Battleground, a film made in the 1950s about the Battle of the Bulge was pretty impressive.

    Don't buy a PagerPal holster

I got suckered into buying one at the last gun show. It stinks, quite frankly. It's very uncomfortable, even with my little 3 inch pistol. Now I'm stuck with it.

Which of these three would you choose?

The Redhawk is the only one of those 3 I'd want.

    I have enough guns...there, I said it

I was going through different guns pretty quickly too, trading, buying, trying to find ones I really liked. Then I finally switched to 1911s (which is strange considering they were the first ones I thought of years ago when I started wanting firearms) and now that I have a couple of 1911s, I'm...

    9mm vs. .45 sidearms

I started out using .9mms. I've heard too many stories from police, etc though about how people kept coming at them after being shot with 9s and how .45s would knock them down even if they were only wounded, so I changed to .45s and .40s. Most law enforcement/self defense guys I've talked to say...
