What do you fear more guns or knives?

after seeing what kind of groups other shooters at the range are capable of, and knowing that they have more practice than the average criminal, i fear knives.

Knives.....though I haven't been shot or stabbed I'd have to imagine it would be far more painful being stabbed or deeply slashed with a knife. Plus the average idiot criminal with a gun does not know what he's doing with it anyway.

Knives. Easier to conceal (both carry and prior to use), and they are everywhere. They don't have to be registered, and you do not need a permit to carry them, so how will we ever know who has them?!? OH, the children!!! :banghead:

Well, I fear long guns more than knives, but knives more than pistols (in the hands of an un-trained user, that is.) However, My fear of knives diminishes if I have a gun of some sort and there is distance between me and the knife wielding person. I couldn't really select one or the other on your poll.

Maybe it's the perception of how they'll be used

Knives.

I think it's rooted in the perception of the proxemity of use of knives -vs- guns. Guns are usually used to hold persons at bay from a distance. That distance between, say, you and a gunman, offers a bit of feeling of security. Knives, on the other hand, require the wielder to be much closer to the target to be effective. That could most certainly be more frightening.

Having never been assulted by a person with a gun or knife, the above if pure speculation.

As a retired (medical reasons) Middle ages re-creation fighter, knives have little to no effect on me. Swords dont even bother me. And considering most real criminals dont go to the range to sharpen thier skills, I'd say niether

I don't fear objects...I leave that to the Antis. As to the person weilding it, I'd rather face a knife weilding opponent. He has to be in contact range to hurt me, if I run he has to catch me, more margin for error (I can take some cuts better than some bullets), clothing can in some instances stop a knife slash (leather jackets, shirt/jacket wrapped around arm) but clothing can never stop bullets.
