Unless you absolutely must take the course with the gun you plan to carry, use the gun with which you are most accurate. I took mine with my Colt King Cobra, decidedly not a weapon for concealed carry. My EDC is an LCP.
There's a lot more to take into account, position of eveyone present, the general vibe you get about the BGs, etc. Since you only have a moment to decide I responded without thinking about it or reading other responses.
Most likely I would do nothing other than give them my wallet and try to...
Ayoob says you should be the first person to call the police after a defensive shooting. Dunn has gotten himself into a world of pain by his own actions.
Of course they are. I was just quoting an old Nam mantra. However, all of this is contingent on what body part is hit, with what and how bad. There is no cut and dried, "bullet wound? Do this." But I do believe all range officers should have basic first aid and CPR training, and all ranges...
I do. I've had a .357 colt for over twenty years but it is too big to be of value as an EDC. Of the guns i own it is the most fun to shoot. I bought a couple of 9 mm semi autos that I thought I would use for EDC as the weather turned colder, but I'm used to my .380 and don't think I'll switch...
"We are all capable of snapping and ruining or ending our lives and that of the other guy. . . " (your quote)
If this were true, (which it is not) the anti-gunners would be justified in making the case that no one should be armed . And I would agree. For someone in our ranks to make such a...
Interesting response, Onward. And disturbing. The anti-gunners are constantly looking for new reasons why we should not be armed and you've just handed them volumes. Hope I'm not around when you snap.
Onward, you might not be at Black Friday, but you might be at the supermarket, on line at the dry cleaners or at McDonalds. Someone might cut in line at any of these places, and this is a much more likely event than six guys attacking you in an alley or some other such scenario that people...
So this is not about the few minutes you might lose to this idiot, it's about your self respect, your honor. Knowing you are armed, knowing where this might go, how important is that honor? What is it worth to you? Is it worth the loss of your house, your children's college fund, your...
Knowing that I'm carrying a deadly weapon, I most likely would not have challenged the line cutter. The knowledge that I can counter a potentially lethal attack is worth a little disrespect. It makes me less likely to initiate any kind of confrontation.
I'm with bikerdoc. Nothing about me identifies me as someone who might be armed. No "Glock" hat, no 5 11 anything or any bumper stickers about how this car is protected. Definitely no camo. I even stopped wearing my Wilderness belt, it's too identifiable. Not only do I not want the BGs to...
Oh? You've changed your original question? I've answered it but you don't like the answer, and you're challenging my reasons. I made it clear that you don't have to approve of my reasons yet you express disapproval after stating it's not about approval.
When you've decided what it is...
