    What is the best 1911

Or you could go to a gun show and get a real GI 1911. I found one a month or so back.

Some thoughts on mans best friend.

Great thread! I understand that not every pit bull is a problem. Sure was for this poor boy though in AZ though. He was recently attacked by his neighbors dog, so he wasn't a stranger. I wouldn't take a chance with this breed. No offense intended to pit bull owners. What a tragedy...

My interview with Phil Morden on his Top Shot All Stars win

I 2nd that, this thread title kind of spoils it for me. I have it DVR'd as well. On another note, hopefully they'll use all new guns next season. Using the same guns as prior seasons was a negative aspect of the show for me this season. Great show though in my opinion. The lack of annoying...

    Found Some (Old) Ammo Today

I found some a few different varieties at a local shop the other day. They're from before my time.

    10/22 scope base issue

Yea, I already mounted the scope with the black base. Perfectly functional. I just have a camo base that matches the rifle that's not usable. Not a big deal. Think I'll have to shoot in the duck hunt rimfire match tomorrow!

    10/22 scope base issue

I picked up a new camo Ruger 10/22 at the local Gander Mtn. today. It came with a scope and 2 sets of scope bases, one 2 piece camo base and a one piece black base. Trouble is with the 2 piece camo base only half fits in the pre tapped holes in the receiver. The 2nd set of pre tapped holes...

    Marlin 39A won't cycle ammo

I experienced similar behavior with a Model 39 I picked up. The fix for me was a new magazine spring.

    Ammunition reliability

I've had that happen with Wally World WWB in 9MM too. I'll be staying away from that stuff from now on.

New bill in MN House regarding gun rights

I was recently informed about a bill introduced to the Minnesota House of Representatives titled: MN Bill H.F. No. 1467. If you're interested, take a look. I'm interested in hearing perspectives from lawyers and other legal experts who are pro gun rights to hear what their opinion is on this...

    Which 9mm would you choose?

I have an SR9c, and have carried it IWB some with a Crossbreed holster. I'd like something a little more compact. Also my SR9c can be a little finicky about ammunition. With cheap ammo I get some light primer strikes, and the round will fail to fire. With good ammo it works great, and I...

    The Marlin 39 Club

Model 39 feeding issues Regarding post 3397: I think I may have figured out my problem. I don't think I mentioned it earlier but this rifle is new to me, just picked it up a few weekends ago. It is an early model 39. Today I recieved some different ammo to test my FTF problem. I ran two...

    The Marlin 39 Club

So far just two types. I was at a crowded indoor range and didn't want to be disassembling the rifle too many times, so I gave up after around four jams. So far I've tried CCI CB 22 Short 29 GR 710 FPS, and Remington Target Std. Velocity Round Nose 40 GR 1150 FPS. I got one of the shorts to...

    The Marlin 39 Club

High speed .22 ammo seems to be more common in the stores around here. I've tried 2 different Standard Velocity varities and am acutally encountering some FTFs where the lever gets stuck all the way open and I have to break the gun down to get the round removed and the action closed. Sounds...

    The Marlin 39 Club

I also have one of those earlier model 39s with the S prefix to the serial #. I've read that you can shoot high-speed ammo if you swap in a late model bolt. Has anyone on THR tried that or have any opinions about that idea?
