10/22 scope base issue

I picked up a new camo Ruger 10/22 at the local Gander Mtn. today. It came with a scope and 2 sets of scope bases, one 2 piece camo base and a one piece black base. Trouble is with the 2 piece camo base only half fits in the pre tapped holes in the receiver. The 2nd set of pre tapped holes are closer together. I plan on contacting Ruger but was wondering if anyone else has encountered this with theirs.

Just use the one piece mount.

Why not put the back base on the back set of holes and the front base on the front set of holes????

Yea, I already mounted the scope with the black base. Perfectly functional. I just have a camo base that matches the rifle that's not usable. Not a big deal. Think I'll have to shoot in the duck hunt rimfire match tomorrow!

Are the newer bases the tip off rimfire types ?
If they are you would be better off to get a one peice Weaver style cross bolt type.

Ruger either sent you 2 front, or 2 rear bases instead of 1 of each. Should be a simple problem to fix.
