    1st Gen P99 trigger

My friend has a first gen and has never been able to get used to the trigger. I don't like it much either.

Took a Carbine Class recently and learned a few things

From that article: That's bad information. The immediate kill zone is directly behind the center of the nose.

    Cleared my house last night..

Exactly. Feeling guilty because you shot an "innocent" person who used a Sawsall to cut a hole in your steel entryway and climb inside means one thing for certain. You are still alive. Honestly, even if i shoot someone, it is highly unlikely they will die. I am about 3 minutes from a major...

Took a Carbine Class recently and learned a few things

Oooooh, that's nice. :) Thanks for the help. I definitely need to go rezero at 50. (Though in honesty, if i ever take a shot outside about 10yds in the real world, things have gone way, way, way wrong)

    Cleared my house last night..

Being inside my house if you don't live here and are not invited, especially at night, is always the wrong place at the wrong time. I am not going to play 20 questions with someone who any reasonable person would automatically know has evil intent, and is unauthorized to be there. People don't...

    bullet proof vests

If you can handle interceptor or PASGT hard plate armor, you will feel like you're wearing a mercedes benz of comfort when you slip on a Class IIIA soft kevlar vest with Class IV ceramic inserts. The steel Class IV inserts are very heavy, but the ceramic ones are nice and light. I have two...

    Cleared my house last night..

That is a "mistake" that will most likely cost them their life. It would take a professional locksmith, blowtorch or a sawsall to get into my residence. There is zero possible chance of an innocent person wandering throughout my building without my prior knowledge- especially in my...

    Cleared my house last night..

There is no reason for an innocent person to be in my alarmed, auto-locking steel door secured domicile, which has no ground floor windows. (I live in an old firehouse) None whatsoever. Besides a single industrial steel door, there is one ground level way in my place- a giant industrial steel...

    Hi-Point 4595

I just put an ATI stock on my Godson's 995 last week. It completely transforms the appearance of the gun. It's very solid and sturdy too, far more so than the factory stock. I actually found myself wanting to run to the store and buy one, it's that neat looking and sturdy feeling with the ATI...

    Hi-Point 4595

My godson has the 995, it's a great weapon. If you're a .45 fan, you'll probably really like it. Sent from south of heaven.

My 1:9/16" shoots Nosler 77gr OTM bullets very nicely.

    My Current Gun Collection

Minus the ND risk.... I think his shotgun trumps your glock big time. Hi Points won't win any beauty contests, and they are huge, but....they absolutely work, and they're rated for +P+ with a lifetime warranty.

    Defensive Ammo Poll.

In a known reliable weapon (like my P7) that is known to fire a variety of hollowpoints without issue (Like my P7), i'll fire anywhere from 25-50rds to verify that nothing goofy is going to happen with a given load. I have Corbon Powrball rounds right now. I've bought 3 boxes of them through...

Took a Carbine Class recently and learned a few things

I measured it today, it's within +/- .1" of 3", so good guess. :) That's not a very pretty trajectory for a MPBR shot from 150-250 yds. Things look up from 300-400 though. If you wouldn't mind(and if you do, it's fine, i don't want to be a nuisance), can you show me the 50yd zero? (I assume...

    bullet proof vests

Does it occur to you that with no vest on, you'd be dead right now, instead of ranting on a message forum about how the equipment that saved your life "sucks?" I guess not. I really don't care who approves or not of me owning (not one, but 2- i usually give one to my partner when we're working...

    bullet proof vests

I have a Class IIIA vest with Class IV ceramic Trauma plates front and rear, plus a Class II groin flap with a Class IV ceramic trauma plate as well. Nothing special about the rig, it's quite typical, and quite comparable to what the LA robbers were wearing. It's also plenty comfortable given...

Zak, could you run the ballistics on a 77gr Doubletap OTM round with a 25yd zero for me plz? I have a 'standard height' AR flat top mounted optic. 16" barrel, muzzle velocity is 2700fps. That's the round i have loaded for defense. Here's a pic of the rifle so you can get a good feel for the...

    Cleared my house last night..

Night sites absolutely shine when you can see a silhouette of the target , but the silhouette is too dark to see your sights. In those scenarios, Tritium night sights are invaluable aids in shooting accurately, IMO.

I hear you bro. If they showed up here in just 20 minutes i would be astonished. Yep, i know. I do it too. It's still the truth though. ;)
