Greyling22:
Good information!
I wasn’t aware left-hand versions of the mini-mauser were made for Charles Daley. The one I have is a new Zastava M85. I’m also hearing they are going to produce left-hand Mauser 98 actions.
Your refinements sound good. My...
"Sako" Type Extractor
All:
HankC thanks for your comment on a broken "Sako" type extractor. I'm aware of claw type extractor being issues. The real issue is the bolt is considered weaker than the Remington 700 design type of bolt where the bolt head is a complete ring with out the cutout for...
Mini Mauser Parts
Head Shot:
I'm sorry, ignored your request regarding parts information. With a little searching this morning on Numrich Arms web site http://www.gunpartscorp.com/ I found the parts list for the Remington Model 799 which you can get for $1.50 (PDF0653). I found this by...
More on Zastava M85
I purchased my Zastava M85 about 6 months ago from a local custom gunsmith friend. The rifle is a left-hand version in 223 caliber.
As I understand, Zastava of Serbia (formerly Yugoslavia) is the company that was manufacturing these for Remington (M-799), Interarms...
I ‘m trying to identify this cartridge for a friend! He has approximately twenty boxes of this ammo packed in what looks like original plain white cube shaped boxes with no label. I did a little research looking in reloading manuals and on search and could not find a match. This cartridge is...
Progress
I found a gunsmith willing to take a look at this problem for me. His description of this type of problem is a "reset" issue. He's real busy right now as it is still hunting season here. I expect to hear from him in a couple more weeks.
I recommend shopping on the OpticsPlanet website lot's of sales and reviews. The reviews should help when you have small buget.

I hope this helps!
I previously posted here for this issue. I have done some additional experiments as detailed below and still have the same issue.
History: I recently purchased an AMT Automag III (30 Carbine) in like new condition. My first Inspection of the pistol indicated it may never been fired and there...
Thanks fot all the replies. I live in a very small town here and 30 Carbine Ammo is scarce here. I have only been able to try two typws so far. I was lucky to find Federal 110 gr. SPRN ammo and that's really all I have right now. I tryed on other brand that was steel cases the first shot fired...
rcmodel: Thanks for your reply and info.
I read a thread on another forum that supports what you said about the spring taking a "set". In this case the thread was refering to a 1911. But this thread indicted the spring fatigues over time and use. It also indicated to replace the spring when...
I’m getting back into reloading after about 20 years too. I never stopped getting Handloader Annual and have about 30 years of issues too. I’m not getting back into it for the economics. Instead it is almost a necessity if you shooting “wildcat” calibers or loading specialized loads for a custom...

I’m looking for some guidance. I didn’t put the detailed firearm description in the title because I’m looking for some more generic trouble shooting information.
I’m having a short cycling issue with a semi-automatic pistol.
Here are the details:
Firearm: AMT Automag III – 30 Carbine
See...
Jaymo: Thanks for the info. If AMMO don't solve the issue I will look into polishing the slide rails. I may a gunsmith I know here look at it first. I'm planning to have him look at it anyway.
I'm planning to have the front sight modified. It groups real nice about 6 inches above the point...
Certaindeaf: I tried Federal 110 gr SPRN yesteday and we experienced "short cycling". See my other post on the cycling issue. I guess I'm goine to have to experiment. We do plan to reload but I need to make sure there isn't a mechanical issue first.
Do you have any experience with the...
I decided to post this separately from my earlier post. I’m hoping to find someone familiar with the Automag and cycling issues.
I'm just back from the range after testing a used AMT Automag III in 30 Carbine. First I have to say I’m very happy with the accuracy and the mild recoil. The...
First thanks to all of you that posted threads on the Automag. It prompted me to make this acquisition of an AMT Automag III in 30 Carbine.
I just completed the transfer yesterday at my local gun shop. The shop owner and his gunsmith both commented on the gun condition, original box and...
If you want to take the twang out of your AR get a JPSCS-15 Silent Captured Buffer Spring system. I just installed one in a Stag Arms 5LH 6.8 SPC and shot it today. What a difference! All the rattling and the "twang" is gone. The felt vibration is also dampened.
Enjoy!
