Picked up a LNIB S&W Model 24-6 (One of Smith's reintroductions of their "Classics") and a model 28-2 Highway Patrolman, circa 1972 which is currently at SW for refinishing. Love those Smiths.! :) Pics to follow.

The 686 is an excellent revolver but that price is way out of line unless, as has been said, it's a performance center gun. Rugers are nice also - I've got both; and they're very nice.

I have a number of guns that I'd classify as "self defense" but they're still fun to shoot. Then I have some that are totally fun but, unless there were no other choice, I'd never consider for self defense. Such as this, one of my favorite "fun" units, the SW M&P 15-22.

My experience has been WalMart Federal bulk pack. And as has been said, NOT Remington.
