Lee Challenger or Lee Classic cast press. Lee presses may feel much "smaller" than other presses, but that is because they are not overbuilt like the other presses. No tool will suffer abuse...used properly any single stage press will last a lifetime.
Did you disassemble the shotgun to clean it? I don't mean to insult your skills, did you reassemble it correctly?
Are you using the shells specified in the manual?
I'd suggest that, unless you have the original powder lots that were loaded, you use the current, specified loads supplied either by the powder manufacturer or a reliable reloading manual. This should be a starting point. As you work your way up, checking for pressure signs, exceed the max...
If you like tinkering, sure, try it. You'll need to remove the berdan anvil and drill a flash hole in the center. The 2, smaller berdan flash holes will likely not provide reliable ignition.
You also may need to swage the primer pocket to allow the boxer primers to fit. This is easily done...
I don't have much experience with AKs....
- Have you cleaned it?
- Is the magazine worn? (feed lips)
- Steel magazines or polymer?
- Have you tried multiple magazines? Is there one magazine that you always have issues with?
- Is the extractor claw/spring worn?
- Have you ever had this issue...
Yes, pistol caliber carbines serve their purpose and fill a niche. But, even within this category of firearms, there are varying strengths and weaknesses. There is a big difference between a 9x19 and .44 magnum.
I like them all. I have a Savage Model 60 that was my Grandfather's. Certainly not the most expensive gun I own, but would never part with it....until I give it to my son.
Your problem is that you're an 0341! Just kidding. The cases are mixed, likely fired from different rifles. Using a case that does not fit your chamber, adjust the sizing die until that case will fit.
Umm, a decent recoil pad will soak up quite a bit of recoil. Also, proper placement of the butt, tight into your shoulder will alleviate the felt recoil. You've got the .308, might as well keep it. Guns are meant to be bought, not sold.
It went off as he picked it up? I'm not convinced. Static electricity...maybe. Bad enough to do that kind of damage? I'd think to build up that kind of pressure the primer would have to be somewhat containerized.
Federally, nothing, assuming none of the firearms you are selling are NFA items. I'm not versed in Texas gun laws. Virginia has no requirements for private sales. North Carolina has no requirement for rifle/shotgun sales, but handguns require the buyer to acquire a purchase permit prior to...
Hmm...a M-16A1 did have full auto capability. It is possible the police department installed a semi-auto only fire control group. Or...hmm...is it possible the reporter word-smithed the article to give the impression that the police department only has semi-auto guns while civilians are able...
If you contact Winchester, they'd be able to tell you when the gun was manufactured, probably down to the day.
I'm not a big fan of optics on .30-30. It excels at being an on the move, quick on target, brush gun using open sights. I find that optics can slow down finding the target to the...
Yes the safety scale is extremely sensitive. I sort of thought that was the idea...a scale sensitive to .1 grains. And, it is very affordable to boot!
I love all my Lee equipment.
Hey guys, keep contacting your representatives. The linked article indicates that universal background checks are required to enforce "future law". I wonder what that future law could be? The article also refers to a provision that allows gun retailers to charge a "small fee" to conduct the...
