700 Nitro Express. Not really strange or unusual. But pretty rare in Oklahoma.

Ah, the BIG DOG! There's a shop here in Denver that sells that ammo, very impressive rounds. Very expensive too.

Quite a few I never heard of, may I ask what you were shooting at with that 700 Nitro? Too bad you don't have a picture of the damage.

Strangest owned and shot is the Daisy 22VL. No primer or firing pin needed, compressed hot air ignites the caseless cartridge. Sort of the diesel engine of .22 caliber rifles.

Probably the most fun I had shooting in the Army was when shooting the M67 at Fort Bragg's Range 40. It was an incredible sensation of power to hold on to that pipe when it let loose at both ends. Much more spectacular than a LAW or RPG.

6.5 x 54 Kurz Mauser. Obsolete when i inherited the rifle that my grandfather brought back from France after WWI. Forming dies available from at least RCBS. Neat cartridge although the 260 Remington is similar and incrementally better.

38/45 Clerke. Fun to dabble with in a M1911 handgun.

I guess the oddest caliber I've ever fired was a .22 Winchester Automatic. Not .22 Long Rifle, .22 Win Auto. A rifle we found in Grandpa's closet that nobody knew about, or had any idea where it came from. My brother has it now. Very weak round, but I guess it'd kill a squirrel.

For me, the oddest would have to be a Kropatschek 8X60R.
Dad took my brother and I out and let my brother shoot it off a bench. He was really young at the time. He touched off a round, took off his muffs and said "I don't want to shoot anymore."

.404 Jeffery. Fun rifle to shoot, not near as bracing as the recoil of a .470.

Befriend H&H Hunter, and maybe you too can fire one of these old African cartridges.

Darn, Cosmoline…

Beat me to the 8mm Lebel; he who hesitates is lost…and so forth.

Oh, well!
