I have been carrying the g26 for two years now. My wife had one jam on the 2ND mag(very limp wristed) since then around 1500 rounds without one(both of us shooting regularly). I definitely recommend the pierce extension. I carry it both with and without but definitely prefer without.
I will...
Awesome, those are exactly the numbers I was looking for. I'm going to go with about 1.25" high at 25 yards which will zero me at ~85ish yards(probably the max that I am likely to shoot where I am hunting).
Thank you for the numbers, VERY helpful!
Gotta find a mount for my sight on my shotgun...
I'm going to be hunting here with a slug gun for the first time. Unfortunately there are no ranges further than 25 yards for me to sight in the new slug gun setup! I'm going to be using a remington 1100 smoothbore IC choke with rifled slugs.
The range I'm going to is only 25 yards and I have...
Well. I had fun! But that's all I took home! No deer seen. Watched an armadillo for about an hour and some squirrels. I put a few drops of buck urine near one of the trails along that draw, which I now think was probably a mistake. I learned by talking to the WMA guys at the check in that...
Haha, I picked out probably the worst spot possible this morning while it was dark. Waited till about 830 and hopped down to scout out the area. I'm gonna eat and move all my stuff/stand in a bit. Found a pretty good area north of the dirt trail just north of #2 where it looks like a creek...
There is a LOT of misinformation in this thread. Before deciding where your Point of aim(POA) and Point of Impact(POI) should be you need to find out what kind of optic they are using if any. Your POI and POA at 25 yards is NOT the same if you're using any kind of optic which a huge majority...

Any opinions on these? I'm assuming the one closest to the road is a bad decision. Any other area's in this section that would be promising? The very large open area south of those 3 is a "safety area" and is off limits.
I'm gonna let it go. You have your opinion and you're welcome to it. But it is an opinion. You have no facts, competition or otherwise. I tried to present one.
I keep trying to resist, but I gotta do it!

Marinecorptimes!
We should take the discussion to another thread or let it die though really!
I'm going deer hunting for the first time this weekend. For those who hunt public land regularly, do you usually take a tree stand with you and set it up in the morning? I'm debating on just seeing what I can do from the ground for my first trip out by sitting up against a tree.
Any advice...
This is my go to target for sighting in rifles.
If you're WAAY off zero, start at something closer than 100yards. I usually will just put 4 up in a square to get started if I have an optic that I think may be far off of zero.

As a branch I wouldn't argue that in the slightest. For marksmanship, Marine Infantry vs Army Infantry I think you'd be quite surprised. :) Would be interesting to see a comparison done.
Just b/c non infantry soldier's don't learn how to shoot iron sights, doesn't mean the REAL soldiers on the ground who do 90+% of the fighting don't still train it. We taught iron sights, zero them, and shoot them as well as shooting optics. The emphasis now is definitely on the optics and for...
I usually clean mine after shooting, but there is no harm in it sitting for a few days before it gets cleaned. I usually clean mine out of boredom more than anything else. I just enjoy doing it.
I do not get them TI clean though. The army(former 11b) goes way too far on scraping parts to...
I've been debating on changing the synthetic stock on my model 10 .308 to an aftermarket wood stock, but wanted to talk to some people that have done it and see some pictures! The only one I've seen so far is the boyd's. I'm not looking for a tactical stock, just something wood and nice...
