Any Savage model 10 owners that have changed to aftermarket stocks?

I've been debating on changing the synthetic stock on my model 10 .308 to an aftermarket wood stock, but wanted to talk to some people that have done it and see some pictures! The only one I've seen so far is the boyd's. I'm not looking for a tactical stock, just something wood and nice looking.

How hard was it to do?

FWIW Stocky's has all of their remaining Boyds stocks on clearance due to complaints about yellowing and peeling finishes. Not a problem for a woodworker but if looks are important, you might look for another brand.

I pondered saving half by going with a Boyds and refinishing it but after bottom metal to convert my M70 I'd be in the hole vs. other options.

Stocky's can let you know about screws and the like and if Allen Heads are available you should pick up a set to make torque setting easier (if you have slotted screws at present).

I got an b&c medalist and i really like it.
i know your looking for wood and not looking for something tacticool but it is a nice synthetic stock that you can get with a neat paint pattern that can be more on the moderate side.

most savage replacement stocks are pretty much drop in and go.

I got a Savage 110 Long Action Hogue overmolded stock to replace the cheap light plastic stock that came with my Stevens 200. It was my only sub MOA shooter, so I figured it was worth it. I love it. Great to handle and it really dampens recoil.
