Hi guys,
I just recently purchased a few early swords.
A couple of them have me stumped.
Anyone here know that kind of stuff ?
Any help would be great.
I have one that looks to be an early United States Marines Sword with a GMS Solingen makers mark. It has a 13 star US flag amongst all the...
Got your heart racing just a little didn't it ?:neener:
Sorry, but it's new for the 1950's.
Here's an old Colt dealer promo from the 50's.
Now you can't even buy the grips/stocks for that price.

I'm guessing that at some point in time, Colt considered making the Python cheaper.
They must have been thinking about eliminating all the hand fitting and going to cheaper style production to bring the initial cost of the Python down.
By doing so they must have been considering what you see...
I've always wanted a 3 digit Python. I've gone and tracked a couple 2 digit Pythons through the years and so far came up empty. One 2 digit python with box I'm still hoping on.
Anyway, this one was the best "3" digit serial numbered Python a collector could hope to get.
At this point they must...
Well, I'm very happy to say. This little gem has finally entered the GUNKWAZY vault.
I think the pictures can tell the story.
Note of interest: Full checkered stocks wrap around the entire frame. Also, they are smaller than the Python full checkered stocks.

One of only 50 made. It's the Serpentine Series Python.
Interesting note: The side of the barrel is not marked 357 magnum, but the bottom of the barrel just before the frame is marked simply "357"

The factory Archive letter calls this one a "Colt J-Frame Double action Revolver South Dakota Ducks Unlimited Special Edition". That's just the model. It also states it was kept as a sample by the Colt factory. It does not mention anything about it being a King Cobra.
Now, I've seen a few (very...
Ok, here's one you won't see on Gunbroker or at your local gun show.
Could you imagine if this became a reality ?
Based on the serial number, this gun would have been in the works around 1981.
It's an experimental prototype Python with a hammer safety switch.
It sure would have been easy to...
I posted these for the boys on the Colt forum last night and thought I would share these with the people that don't go over there on that forum.
Here's a Colt factory experimental prototype of the Trooper MKIII.
As you can see, it has a sleeved/interchangeable style barrel design similar to...
Would you send this guy $10,000 for a wheelgun ?
Fuzzy pictures and a feedback rating that makes you cringe.

If not $10,000, what about almost $60,000 ?

Nice stuff, but I...
Here's an unusual finish on a Dan Wesson.
I don't see very many Dan Wessons with a nickel finish.
As a mtter of fact I never see any for sale.
Here's a pic. I do have the rest of the nickel barrels & grips to go with the pistol pak.

OK, here's the deal.
I ran into these guys at the Phoenix Crossroads of the west gunshow. The company name is N.C. Ordnance.
These guys are now making EXACT reproduction of factory grips, wood or plastic.
Exact reproductions of Colt Python target grips, Colt Woodsman "Elephant Ear" grips...
Hi guys,
Got a guy with a set of nice Roper stocks for a Colt that are for sale.
What's the going price on these things ?
I can't remember if they were bringing $300 or $600.
Any help would be great.
thanks, Jeff (GUNKWAZY)
