Loading the 55 gr Z-max (green tipped V-max)

In exchange for baby sitting your brother's reloading gear, you should get a Giraud Trimmer...LOL Makes brass prep simple and efficient

How much junk do you drag to the range?

I have one and have STOPPED using it. Too easy to fill up and then I'm killing myself trying to get it to the firing line. I'm moving to a tool box with wheels so I can make one trip with ammo, cleaning gear (as needed), pistols, tools. If I'm shooting rifle (which I do most of the time)...

    Hornady Primer Crimp Reamer

Thanks RC. I think I'm on the right track. Just needed a little confirmation.

    Hornady Primer Crimp Reamer

I've got a Hornady Primer Crimp Reamer chucked in my drill. Processing LC NATO 223 brass. I've tried to find pictures of a properly reamed piece of brass, but I seem to be seeing inconsistent information on what constitutes a properly reamed case. Does anyone have a good picture of a...

    260Rem Reloading Questions

On other boards, people have had success with the 260 Rem and 6.5 Creedmoor with the 120gr class bullets and Varget. However, I'm not sure I've seen anyone running a gas gun. Those that have had success have run this combo on bolt guns. I run H4350 which is the defacto powder for the two...

Why 6.5 CM and not 260?

I had a CBI barrel chambered in 260 Match (longer throat for the 140 class bullets) in a Savage action. I could NOT load a bullet at the lands and still load in a mag. I even tried an Alpha Type 2 and no go. My accuracy was never what I expected it to be. In a fit of rage (maybe half rage)...

Best Bulk 223 Powder and Bullet?

If you have no restrictions, then yes the steel cased ammo is hard to beat for plinking ammo edit: the only place I can shoot within 2 hours of me that allows FMJ rifle ammo is private land. I wish there wasn't restrictions, but I don't write the rules :(

Best Bulk 223 Powder and Bullet?

Most of the ranges (assuming you're going to a range) here don't allow FMJ rifle ammo so I'm limited to HP, SP or BT. For bulk plinking ammo, I prefer MidSouth Varmint Nightmares http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/Vendor/00004/MIDSOUTH/Dept/reloading/rifle-bullets/-point-224-dia/55-gr

Please recoment a good electric powder dispencer/scale

I've got a chargemaster. Keep an eye out and you'll find one for sale. I got mine on the cheap and was barely used (frankly could barely tell that it had been used).

    Lee Shell Holders

This definitely has the "thingy" as it is plugged into the shell holder assembly of the Redding Big Boss II press I am using.

    Lee Shell Holders

No fired brass as I don't have the rifle as yet. Just trying to prep the brass as best that I can.

    Lee Shell Holders

That is a distinct possibility as I do have both. I ordered a Redding Shellholder last night. I'll give that try. I probably have the #5 universal, but honestly after the move some things got misplaced or lost. It is possible this is likely one of those things. That being said, this is unfired...

    Lee Shell Holders

I am using the Lee Shell Holder #5 (300 WM). I've always understood / believed that a shell holder is a shell holder is a shell holder. I'm beginning to doubt that. Equipment: Redding Big Boss II utilizing the Hornady Bushing Converter so I can use Hornady Quick Change Bushings...

    Powder Suggestions: MBC Coated Bullets

PV had some CFE Pistol a few weeks back, but I didn't get any as I didn't have the cash at the time (had bought nearly 40# of other powders). In hindsight, I should have begged / borrowed the funds to add the 8 or 16# to the order. I'll keep an eye out and if it comes available again, I'll...

    Powder Suggestions: MBC Coated Bullets

HP-38 works really well in 45 ACP, but has been leaving wanting when it comes to 9 Luger. I may give CFE Pistol a try. Finding any pistol powder has been a challenge.

    Powder Suggestions: MBC Coated Bullets

I guess if similar then I'll stick with the tried and true recipes. I'll continue to look for HP-38. I've got some, but I guess I need to actually weigh how much I have left. **** Has anyone had an experience with CFE Pistol? Very curious about this new powder and I don't seem to see a lot...

    Powder Suggestions: MBC Coated Bullets

I'm switching to MBC's Coated Bullets. Been using their lead bullets, but am finally coming to the end of those bullets. From a reloading perspective, how different are their coated offerings from plain lead offerings? That being said, I've been loading all of my 9 & 45 with HP-38. I am...

    30-338 WM: Powder Suggestions

I'd really like to get the barrel's worth out of it. Previous owner had exactly 49 rounds down the tube (the 49 once fired brass that it came with). It is likely the previous owner cut it down to 27.5 (just a guess because 27.5 is just an odd measurement). With that being said, I've probably...

    30-338 WM: Powder Suggestions

Picked up a Rem 700 (trued with a few other bells and whistles) chambered in 30-338 WM (tight neck [need to look up what neck size], 27" 1.25 no taper, & muzzle brake). It came with Redding Competition Dies including the appropriate Titanium Bushing to go along with it. In addition to the...

    Hornady .224 75gr A-Max: color me impressed

Recently bought 2 600ct boxes of Hornady .224 75gr A-Max. Got the bug recently to get as much accuracy out of my rifles as I can. That being said, I've started sorting by a) weight and b) base to ogive measurements The 2 boxes were opened up and dumped into a pail. Both the same lot...
