    mosin-nagant question

its a m91/30 , has 1943 date, assuming manufacture date so could be a "war" gun, got today at cabelas, $100, with sling, bayonet, ammo pouches. I like it so far, haven't shot it yet. always wanted a lee-enfield or mauser but i'm pretty happy with this if it shoots straight, we'll see.

    mosin-nagant question

just got a new to me mosin-nagant. Now i find out they load with a stripper clip. I will probably just hand load one at a time. Is there any trick to loading ? I read on internet that the rim of the top cartridge needs to be in front of the rim of the lower cartridge, but is that for the...

Try to see if my wife can handle a .357 round

http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=453964 .357 mag "cowboy" loads from sportsmansguide. still look like they pack a punch at over 1,000 fps and over 400 ft lbs energy , but thats less than a typical load of 1200/500 ballpark. the standard answer is always .38 spl, which is...

Is all 9mm Ammo the same?

no , all 9mm is not the same. You should get better answers here soon, but the most common 9mm is 9X19, otherwise known as 9mm Luger , which are the same or interchangeable. THere are lots of different 9mm, 9x18 (soviet), 9x23 (competition mostly) 9mm kurtz a.k.a. .380. These are NOT...

    SW 696 .44spl value?

got a SW696 no dash, 3" stainless, hammer mounted firing pin, black rubber grips, bought brand new , fired about 15 rounds, box and original paperwork. Nice gun, shoots fine, sat in my nightstand for years. I need cash and ran it by the local scheels about a year ago but got a real low ball...

What long-action caliber for general use?

mr. trooper, if you're still reading the thread I'd like you to know I don't feel the recoil of a .25-06 is bad at all (it IS LOUD). It is a decent all around deer rifle that can do double duty on varmints. Were you to ever hunt elk or bear a .30-06 would indeed be a better choice. 30-06 and 270...

    Are we crying wolf

The Threat is real. Firearms issues are not in a vacuum isolated from what is going on elsewhere in .gov. Look around you. Read the news. The government control of your daily rights and liberties is increasing. Seal belt and helmet laws, smoking laws, tax issues, gasoline blends that cause...

    New Vaquero or USFA Rodeo?

I was faced with the same situation. I really liked the matte finish on the rodeo and wanted it for the more authentic action, after all it is a cowboy gun. However if you were planning on large volume shooting like SASS the Ruger could be better. Between these two revolvers I don't think you...
