    Side lock and pellets

I shoot an old .50 cal TC Hawken side lock and have the notion to shoot some of the new fangled pellets. I was wondering if I put a priming charge of say 10 gr of ffg to get things going if that would work? The reason I ask as I have never seen the pellets used in an old side lock. Joe

    New to me 1851 Colt

Well I got bit in a gun store and bought a beat to death repo 1851. The gun looks like someone tried to "antique" it. Poor thing is beat to death and all the blue is gone. But the lock up is very tight. Which makes me think it will shoot well. The bore is bright and the cylinders look clean as...

Brass Molds that come with a pistol

My 3rd model came as a cased set with a brass bullet mold. I tied to cast a few balls with it. I had a difficult time. Even with leather welding gloves I could not hold the mold and there was some much flashing that the balls were useless. The spruce was could not be cut off with the cutter...

    H&R Handi Rifle .45-70

Any one know: 1: Anything about the Handi Rifle name Buffalo Hunter? .45-70 I believe. 2: if anyone does custom barrels for a Handi Rifle. One in 50-90 Sharps would be beyond cool. I Google'd for custom barrels for a Handi Rifle and found nothing.

    Shooting old Remingtons

I have an old Remington #2 SxS 12ga marked "fluid steel" I know the steel is not as strong as modern steel. The gun is sound. A gunsmith said to shoot it with light loads or Black Powder loads. I would lean toward the BP loads if I do shoot it. I was thinking about getting a set of incert...

How to get a pellet gun sighted in?

I just got a El Cheapo pellet gun that came with a scope and no iron sights. it is the break barrel type action. My question is how to get it sighted in? You can't look down the bore at a target and adjust the scope to be looking at the same place. I was at the local range yesterday blazing...

    die for cutting felt/paper wads

I ran across a URL for a die that fits a reloading press for cutting wads and like a real dummy I did not mark the web page. These dies screwed in to the press and had a punch that fit the die on the top side. Do any of you have a URL for these dies? Thanks Joe
