If anyone is interested, here is the response I got from Remington customer service: "Thank you for contacting Remington. ShurShot heavy dove loads are exclusive to Academy Sports. The loads are the same. Thank you and best regards, Remington Customer Services" Also, budsgunshop, the...

Anybody know what the difference is between "Shurshot Heavy Dove" and "Heavy Dove"?

I ordered three cases of R12HD8 Remington Shurshot Heavy Dove from budsgunshop. These are the red and green heavy dove boxes. They sent me three cases of RHD128 Remington Heavy Dove. These are Green and Tan boxes. Heres where it gets tricky. The cases they sent me are marked RHD128 on the...

    Ruger experts, Speed Six question....

Mesinge, check out the following thread, it's got some great pics of the gun I'm referring to. You can see from the pics, the barrel appears to be thicker, and the lug reaches all the way to the tip of the barrel. I'm intrigued by the GS-33, because it looks like the offspring of a 3" GP100...

    Ruger experts, Speed Six question....

JoeSchmoe, I'm not positive, but I think those are Hogue grips. Kevin, when you say yours is a bull barrel, which picture does it look like?

    Ruger experts, Speed Six question....

Ruger made a Speed Six GS-32, and GS-33. The GS-32 weighed 31 ounces, and had a 2 3/4" barrel. It is my understanding that the GS-33 came with a 3" heavier barrel. These were USPS revolvers. Does anyone have a weight on the GS-33, or have one that you can throw on a scale? Here is a pic...

Do these bullets look right? (30-30 experts)

Ok, Speer called me back today, and the gentleman that i've been speaking with said they're going to put a production hold on the 170 deep curl. He said they pulled a couple of boxes from their warehouse, opened them up, and they looked exactly like the ones I have. He said that is definitly...

Do these bullets look right? (30-30 experts)

I finally got a hold of somebody at Speer today, and he was very understanding and polite. He asked me to email him pics and lot numbers, and he would get back to me on Monday. He did say that they do put seconds out their in the market, but they should have been sold as seconds. I'll...

Do these bullets look right? (30-30 experts)

Just to answer a few questions: These were bought online and shipped to me. Both boxes were sealed, and show no signs of being roughed up at all. The bullets are packed very tightly in the box, and cannot move. So this most likely didn't happen in transit. I emailed the online retailer...

Do these bullets look right? (30-30 experts)

Thank you all for the input. I think the consensus is that these bullets are not the norm. Therefore, I will be contacting Speer and asking for an exchange.

Do these bullets look right? (30-30 experts)

That's another thing i'm worried about, is the lead gumming up the rifle over time. I can literally pick it off with my fingernails, and it just falls off.

Do these bullets look right? (30-30 experts)

I'll try contacting speer 1st to see what they say. I'm mostly disappointed with speer. I've always found them to have top notch quality. These will be used for hunting, so my biggest concern is their accuracy, and ability to expand uniformly.

Do these bullets look right? (30-30 experts)

Okay, back to the original questions. Does everyone agree that these are not normal? Does anyone have any loading experience with these, and can confirm that their bullets looked different?

Do these bullets look right? (30-30 experts)

Anyone have speer's number or email? I went to their website, and they've taken down their info because of all the ammo panic inquiries.

Let me preface this with saying that i've never reloaded 30-30 before, so these flat points are new to me. I recently purchased 2 boxes of speer deep curl 170gr FP #2042. This is what I received: http://s9.postimage.org/rc6qu47nz/DSCN2685.jpg...

Is .223 or 5.56 better for making 300 blackout cases?

So I guess the consensus is that there is really no preference between the two.

Is .223 or 5.56 better for making 300 blackout cases?

So would .223 cases be preferred then since you don't have to remove the primer crimp?
