I'm new to rifle reloading. Is this what incipient case head separation looks like?
The cases are .308, Winchester, only fired twice through a Kel-Tec RFB but I'm told that rifle is very hard on cases.
Thank you in advance.
Recently I was presented with an unsharpened wakizashi. I'd like to know if the blade is capable of being sharpened and holding an edge, and I'm unfamiliar with these matters. I'd appreciate any suggestions regarding a company or individual capable of helping me with this. If location is...
Last night I disassembled the lock of my Harper's Ferry pistol (Uberti replica, 1985). This has resulted in quite a learning experience. In particular, I can't compress the mainspring enough to get it back in the lock. The small c-clamp I am using slides off the spring instead of compressing...
Just upgraded from a Lee Classic (whack-a-mole) loader to a Lee Classic Turret. So far things appear to be going well, but the resizer die takes the case diameter by the extraction groove down to 0.471. The finished cartridge has a case diameter at the mouth of 0.473 (which I gather is...
For the past two years I've been using a Lee Classic Loader for .45 ACP. It's slow but until today I didn't have any problems I couldn't solve. One of the things I haven't had to learn anything about is neck tension, which is apparently the source of my current problem.
I've been in the habit...
As a newcomer to the area, are there any gun stores in the four corners region that are known to occasionally have primers and propellants? Thank you in advance.
For the past year or so, I've been reloading .45 ACP with a Lee Classic Loader. Today I wanted to spend some time resizing and priming, but after detonating three primers in the course of twenty-six cases called it a day and got to thinking. There's nothing like getting a lot of lead styphnate...
I'm new to reloading, only reload one cartridge, and have a question. Is there a brand of .45 ACP cartridge case that has developed a good reputation for durability? The gun in question is a Glock 21, stock barrel, and I use the minimum amount of Bullseye that will ensure reliability (4.2...
I've disassembled my Uberti replica Walker a few times and have shot it once. Recently I noticed a slight horizontal and vertical wobble between the barrel group and frame. I've tried pounding the barrel wedge further in to tighten the fit with no apparent improvement.
Is this normal...
The local Sheriff's office is having an auction of some confiscated firearms. One is a ".45 flintlock pistol" and I'm thinking about going to bid on it. If it looks decent, what are the more subtle things I should watch for?
Thank you in advance.
