    16" 6.5 grendel Vs. 18" 5.56

A It's one of Odin Works variants of magazine release extensions. I tried one of their first models when they first came to market and I liked the quality machining and the design. Odin does several different versions. Flat, slopped out, slopped in. I use one version or another on all my AR's...

    16" 6.5 grendel Vs. 18" 5.56

I like the ASC mags, I prefer the 17 rounders. They don't get in the way when shooting in the prone. 17 rounds is plenty enough to get any job done, including home defense and they fit nice and comfy in a back pocket. As for home defense. Ask yourself this. Put yourself in some idiot...

    16" 6.5 grendel Vs. 18" 5.56

Doesn't matter what purpose. Across the board a 16" 6.5 Grendel with factory Hornady A-Max will eat a 5.56 18" SPR's lunch and ask for seconds and the price to shoot arguments is invalid. Factory 6.5 Grendel 123gr A-Max can be had for 22.00 a box, most premium .223/5.56 match ammo is more than...

    Killer Innovations new muzzle brake.

Just thought I would give a heads up on a new muzzle brake I found. Some are not Fond of muzzle brake but I for one am. I have been using them for 20+ years. Many different types, so when a good looking, well designed, quality brake shows up. I give them a try, while allot of brakes are...

Building 6mm Remington. Rate of twist question

If you want to use the rifle for varmints and deer, I would go with a 10 twist. From what you say you have no need for a 8 twist for the heavier VLD style bullets.

Took time to bench my new .338 Edge barrel today.

I had Benchmark barrels switch barrel my 450 Ultra Magnum. I built the 450 just for the hell of it and couldn't stand the thought of it just sitting in the safe. So I had Benchmark screw on a 30" 9 1/2 twist, Sendero contour with a brake. Now if need be I can change back to the 450 Ultra in 10...

Another David Winston at the post box today.

I had David go slim on the Brick red G10 scales on this knife also, the Swedge turned out great. The tapered tang gives it a slight weight forward on the grip. David Winston Model 69 S30V Brick red G10(Slim) Jigged & Blasted Tapered tang Black pins & lanyard tube Black liners Snap sheath/pouch

    Lightweight Sharpener/Stone For Hunting Pack?

On several of my hunting knives I just had the knife maker include a hone loop and diamond hone on the pouch or sheath. If need be I can do a quick touch up but usually it takes several animals before a touch up is needed.

For Iraq/Afghanistan Vets - What Was Your Most Useful Sandbox Knife?

I don't know what rules are imposed on military personal these days when it comes to "Weapons" but I know in my service days (11B). There was quite a difference between a "Utility" knife and your go to knife when all other systems have failed or the situation calls for such. I prefer a little...

    Winston Model 22, Extended 2"

I purchased a Model 22 from David awhile back and I liked it enough that I wanted the same profile just longer. So I asked David if he would make me a Model 22 and extend the blade 2", he agreed and here is the finished knife. This knife will be at home in the kitchen as well as in the field...

    Custom Howe Mountain survival knife.

Dale smoked one out for me here! I had a profile in my head of what I wanted for a survival/ camp knife but staying out of the chopper class. Keeping it on the lighter side but not too small. I sent the sketch bellow to Dale, mentioned the words "Swedge" and "Kydex" and Dale ran with it. I...
