I purchased a Model 22 from David awhile back and I liked it enough that I wanted the same profile just longer. So I asked David if he would make me a Model 22 and extend the blade 2", he agreed and here is the finished knife. This knife will be at home in the kitchen as well as in the field boning Elk and such. That extra 2" makes for alot of blade, I also had the scales slimmed up quite a bit.

Now that's a great utility knife if your main intent is cutting rather than prying or chopping. Combine that with a small hatchet or tomahawk for the heavier chores and you have an ideal combo for the woods.

I like the fact that you slimmed the handle scales. That makes for a lighter, handier knife. Too many people think weight equals quality, and that isn't necessarily true.

I think the sheath would be well served with a couple of reinforcing rivets or staples, as is seen in a Ka-Bar sheath, because there is a lot of blade there cutting on the inside of the sheath.

Great knife, though.
