Good deer hunting rounds for 7.62x39?

Remington 7.62x39 125gr. SP works good for me. Deer in the freezer, an 8 pointer on the wall. Works very good on coyotes, too. I have no problems with it out of an AR platform.

    Lee enfield information (pics)

No more than $225-250. More than that is over priced.

    Lee enfield

Check places like Brownell's, Marstar, and other Enfield parts suppliers. A sight can be found at not too bad of a price. Also check Gunbroker, GunsAmerica, ebay, etc. Bottom line: buy the rifle [even if you haven't said which Enfield it is] and you can get the parts to get it back in shape.

US Army's new microchipped ranged ammunition

A cute ordnance toy, but not a practical item for general issue to the troops. And it weighs 14 pounds? Consider the cost and the "what could go wrong" factor in the platform. As to cost, the article cites $25k-$30k per rifle. An M4 type runs around $800-$1k. Simple works; exotic, not so much...

Proper wood stock cleaning - surplus rifle

Not to sound like the THR fire marshall, but keep in mind when using products such as Naptha and Gasoline, these are extremely flammable and will produce flammable vapors. Use in a well ventilated area; certainly no place where you may have a source of combustion such as your water heater...

Two Questions about the M1 in “Gran Torino”

Uhhh... movies are for ENTERTAINMENT. You know, kick back, drink the beverages of your choice and eat the food of your choice while watching said movie. They aren't intended to be training videos. Hollywood takes extreme license when making any movie; they're in the business to sell tickets...

    OK, I'm getting a 7.62x39 AR

I have a Del-Ton 7.62x39 upper and it's shoots very good. No stoppages or feeding problems; I use the C-Products 10 round magazines, and they have also worked with no problems. I think I paid something like $460 for the A2 upper, which comes complete with the bolt assembly, charging handle and...

    Del Ton AR-15

I have a Del-Ton 7.62x39 upper and it's shoots very good. No stoppages or feeding problems; I use the C-Products 10 round magazines, and they have also worked with no problems. As far as I know, Del-Ton's 7.62x39 barrels do not have chrome lining, but why would you need it anyway? For a...

    7.62x39 and Coyote

Del-Ton 16" 7.62x39 A2 upper with a 3-9x40 scope on a BM lower. Load used was the Remington 7.62x39 [R762391] 125gr PSP. Distance was about 30 yards; temp around 55F; no wind. The coyote was shot on the left side and dropped in place. The setup works for me; I'm happy. Thanks to Krochus and...
