Need help with a value of this piece, A friend of mine was given this by a relative who doesn't like guns. It is a winchester model 12 that i believe is a takedown model, I was told it has been in this leather case for at least 40 years! wich is what i think has caused the pitting on the...

the G wasn't badly stamped. my eyes decieved me, it was a G that looked like a 6 until i looked at it close up.

Any help with year of production and value would be a great help too, i would place this at about a 90 to 95 percent gun as there is some holster wear and some very minor surface fuzz that will clean up with a little work. Thanks again in advance for you help.

I realize Navy marks are rare and worth a higher premium but if i was willing to spend that amount of money i would think a person would save his money an find an original. I would think the investment would be better spent on the originals.

For those of you that may have this pistol with this problem. The llama max one parts worked! the only thing i had to do was trim the ejector spring a little and keep working the rounds until she started running again! With a little more fine tuning she will be good to go.

I saw this gun on the 1911 forum, It has been refinished i believe, IT had some sort of shiny paint on it. the serial number was inset on the other side of pistol. i don't believe they had a definate answer as to what it was over there either.
