I would not buy a new Ruger today. The stupid load chamber on the autos. The ugly Houge grips on the revolvers. Ruger demise began in the early 2000 's in my opinion. I own 8 Rugers. I love the ones I own. My MKII is from 1998.
It is a rimfire eater. Never a problem. Dead on accurate. I have...
Keep the Ruger, shop on the auctions for the 720. I have "covert"720 and a super nice speed six. I would not part with either. The speed six is the better of the two that's for sure.
Academy has these on sale for $299.00 Any thoughts on this weapon. It would be for ccw, and home defense. All I have seen and heard online is these are good weapons. Anyone have one that says different?
My 1983 SS Speed Six is my go to for ccw. I love this weapon. I have a very nice GP100 from 1992. The GP keeps my safe company. But the Speed Six rides on my hip :-)
Wish people all over made deals like yours. But the greed bug has everyone these days.
Your weapon will stand the test of time and be going strong when you are long gone. Enjoy the Ruger.
I am looking at one of these in 270. The price is $359 out the door new. It comes with a scope and sling. What are the pro's and con's about this weapon?
Most of what I have read is good. But anyone have one and can expound upon this.
Plenty of corn here in central KS. As a matter of fact my neighbor has a 1/2 section of irrigated corn planted. His other 3 sections are milo and wheat.
I have been thinking about letting go of my 1983 mint Remington ADL in 270. I just don't shoot it. It has not seen a round through it since 1990. 40 rounds total. I am a 30-06 guy. Should I sell this or just keep it, and hand it down to my kids. I love the gun. It has a wonderful Weaver 3x9...
Thoughts on this please. I have a chance to buy this weapon. It is brand new. never fired. Bill of sale shows it was bought in 1969. The gun for being 45 years old looks like it just came off the line. New as new can be. The gun is a 30-06.
Selling price is $400.00
Is this a good deal?
The Security Six is a very, very fine weapon. It is one of the best double action revolvers Ruger has ever made. I have a Speed Six. It will out last me and the person I leave it to. Carry, shoot it with pride. Let the SKS go and never look back. You just cant go wrong with one of the older Rugers.
Wow!!!!!!!!!!
A 140 views. And 2 comments. Must not be to many 44 Special shooters out there. That is sad. The Specials just that Special. Skeeter would role in his grave I believe :-)
Anyone out there shoot the 44 Special for ccw? I do. And I was wondering what velocity's my fellow Special shooters are getting out of there smoke wagons? I am shooting the Blazer Gold Dots in 200 grain out of a Taurus 431 with a 3in barrel and a Rossi 720 with a 3in tube.
I am getting 890 to...
Amazing how a 2 3/4 or 3in 357 magnum becomes so weak unless it is not a 4in or better. I carry my Speed Six and it has never left me wanting. The 2 3/4 in barrel in plenty. I shoot Remington 125gr sjhp out of it. I have shot two coyotes, a badger and a bobcat with it here in Kansas. All were...
My friend. You have a very, very nice weapon there. You can never go wrong with one of the older Blackhawks. I have several in 357, 44 magnum. Your Ruger will be able to take the loads you have stated. I reload all my own. I like using Unique or Bullseye for my shooting. When I load "hot", I use...
I have a Remington model 700 ADL in 270 Win. The weapon is a "safe queen". It was manf in 1983. Has had less then 40 rounds through it. It comes with a camo sling and a Weaver 3x9 scope.
THE TRADE:
Man wants to offer me a 1972 three screw Ruger Blackhawk in 357 magnum. The Ruger is in very...
