I have been thinking about letting go of my 1983 mint Remington ADL in 270. I just don't shoot it. It has not seen a round through it since 1990. 40 rounds total. I am a 30-06 guy. Should I sell this or just keep it, and hand it down to my kids. I love the gun. It has a wonderful Weaver 3x9 scope on it. I ought to put it on one of my other rifles. Not sure though. When I bought it. I thought I would shoot it more. But I think I will replace it with a lever action 357.
What should I do my rifle friends?

Naw.

Just been fields.

Everyone knows there are no cornfields in Kansas.
And even IF there were?

A .270 won't kill a deer across a 180 acre field in either kind of row crop field. :D

Plenty of corn here in central KS. As a matter of fact my neighbor has a 1/2 section of irrigated corn planted. His other 3 sections are milo and wheat.

It was a joke! :D

I've live in Eastern Kansas 70 years, and cultivated & harvested more corn & soybeans as a 10 - 18 year old on an old 8N Ford or 420 John Deere tractor then I even want to remember now.

Talk about a boring job!
Watching the dust blow up in your face and trying to keep from day-dreaming and plowing out the rows for 12-14 hours a day when you are 12!!!!! :banghead:

The .270 not killing a deer joke was a joke too, in case there was any doubt!

just got a warning notice. I apologize. I was unaware of a rule that you couldn't post a rifle in the rifle section. It wont happen again

I have a hard time letting go of firearms. I have more recently found that with age comes a peculiar sense of wanting more from less and with that in mind I've pared down a bit with a few more in mind that need to be gone.

So long as you've got a higher priority replacement in mind, I see no reason to keep what you do not shoot, just be ready to accept the loss of what you have and make good and sure its replacement is what you want.

And be especially careful you don't really regret it later in life when you realize you want it back.
And they don't make them like those anymore!

BTDT, several times over.
They don't eat unless you feed them.
So if you don't feed them, you don't have to change their diapers!
