    Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun

I just got one at Gander Mountain for $19.99. Pick one up and get a get a kid started on the fundamentals of safe shooting. That and a couple bucks for 1500 BBs makes a good Christmas gift.

Painting your gun for a matte finish...

My brother painted his Remington Sportsman years ago with 3 different colors of spray paint to get a camo pattern. He used nothing special or expensive and it worked great. The paint hasn't chipped or worn away. He made sure to strip all the oil and grease off as much as possible, as has...

    12ga magnum buckshot? magnum slugs?

I saw Lightfield 3.5" slugs for sale at Gander Mountain. They are a little pricey.

please help me choose second handgun.

Freedom Arms model 83 in .454 Casull with 7.5" barrel.....or not. If you're set on the .45acp be sure to check out the Springfield XD. In fact, spend some time shopping around. Go to a gun range where they offer guns to rent. Try out some different makes and models. Usually they aren't...

The joy of the .22 handgun

I bought a Taurus 941 .22mag for my wife and it's one of my favorites to shoot. It's very accurate, just feels right in my hands, and I love to shoot it. I don't have a handgun in .22lr yet, but I plan on getting one soon. The .22mag ammo is a little pricey so I'm looking forward to being...

    32 acp for self defense?

Referring to the original post, "I personally think that a 32 should be a decent self defense round as any bullet will do enough damage to take down an attacker. Prove me right or wrong." I love the .32 acp because a friend of mine was shot 3 times with it at around 10 yards, twice in the face...

    Help with gun breakdown--Davis .380

Thanks, Bearman. That helped. This thing is a piece of garbage. I've seen kid's toys that were built better than this.

    Help with gun breakdown--Davis .380

Can someone tell me how to take apart a Davis Industries .380? The firing pin broke and I bought a replacement, but I can't figure out how it breaks down. Any information would be appreciated.

    Firing Pin Repair----Need Help

Jim, I plan on replacing the firing pin and giving it back to it's rightful owner. I won't be spending any more of my money on it. It's a piece of garbage. I can't believe my friend used to carry it for self defense. Have a good one.

    Firing Pin Repair----Need Help

That's what I thought, Jim, but mrmeval pointed me in the right direction. I believe I found the part at Numrich online and they have them in stock. The gun is a piece of junk, but it belongs to a friend so I will fix it. Thanks for the help, mrmeval.

    Firing Pin Repair----Need Help

I have a Davis Industries .380 that I borrowed from a friend. It's a very cheap gun. I dry fired it once and the firing pin snapped in half and flew across the room. Does anyone know how I can fix it/replace the part? I'm assuming parts for this gun are not readily available. Any help would...

.32 ACP too weak as a defensive round?

Doger5----the person I know was shot due to a practical joke gone terribly wrong. I won't go into details, but I don't have much faith in that caliber due to the evidence I saw. I can handle stronger calibers than that, so I do. Use what you can and become proficient with it. That's good...

.32 ACP too weak as a defensive round?

I know someone that was shot 3 times with the .32acp from a short distance with 2 of the shots hitting him in the face. He is still alive and well. I don't know what ammo was used, but that was enough for me to never consider it for self-defense.

Strangest, weirdest, coolest thing seen in the woods?

I was around 12 years old when I was fishing for dogfish in a river off of Lake Michigan. We caught little perch and used them as bait. The line was only about 1 foot down from the bobber and I was watching about 6 geese swimming slowly along. It didn't dawn on me until it was too late. The...

    Need help with Ruger

I have a problem with a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 mag. I've had it for about a year and every session I fire it the frame screws come loose. Is there a good compound to put on the threads to keep them secure? I don't want anything that will make it impossible to take apart later on.

    .32 ACP as SD round

For those wanting a real life example, I personally know of someone that was shot 3 times by a .32 acp. He was hit twice in the face and once in the shoulder from a distance of about 10 yards. At first he thought he was stung by bees as he didn't see the guy shooting at him. Once he found out...

After drinking too much you have to go with a shotgun. It's too hard to hit something with anything else.

    Range report: Bersa .380

The gun store I frequent in Indianapolis sells the Duo-Tone model for $189.00. I can't find anyone else that comes close to that price. I may have to get one for myself.

    Indy 1500

KS&E on the east side has done me very well. I haven't found anyone able to come close to their prices. I went to the gun show in January and was a little disappointed. The number of food booths seems to increase every time. Maybe it's just me, but I don't go there to eat.
