Anyone using a revolver for NRA Bullseye?

I used to use a revolver in Centerfire many years ago, but I got a Smith 52 in 1987, and I've been using that ever since. Recently, I got an old Officers Model to use for the Distinguished Revolver matches, so I'll be shooting a little bullseye w/revolver soon. Your choices are a 38...

Help choosing a 9mm 1911 for USPSA shooting

"I am so lost. Someone, PLEASE name a couple of good 9MM pistols that I could use for USPSA that are ALL METAL! Not knowing what I am doing and trying to figure all this out just gets me more and more confused. I need an ALL METAL, full sized 9mm, High capacity if possible, for not more than...

Good calibers and platforms for centerfire bullseye competition

I've been shooting a 52 for 20 years, and there is no 'proper' method of tightening the bushing that I've ever heard of. I tighten it all the way, then back it off slighltly until the little pin drops into one of the serrations. If you can find one of the original factory bushing wrenches...

    Front Site Challenge

In my 29 years of pistol and rifle competition, I've never been to a single match where people were downrange of loaded guns. Not counting pits or some type of barricade. Even without that, I thought it was the lamest show about the lamest competition I'd ever seen. They were shooting...

    Front Site Challenge

Has anybody else seen this show on TV? It's on the Versus channel (formerly known as OLN). This "shooting competition" seems more like a game show than any match I've ever been to. My question for anybody who's seen it is: Are those range officers standing downrange of people with loaded...

    Molon Labe .... the book

If you want government to intervene abroad, you're a conservative. If you want government to intervene at home, you're a liberal. If you want government to intervene everywhere, you're a centrist. If you want government to intervene nowhere, you're an extremist. budney, that's a great...

    Molon Labe .... the book

Warning: 1 plot spoiler following: My favorite part was the idea that armed customers did not have to pay sales tax, and unarmed customers did. I laughed for a long time over that one.

    Laser surgery & shooting

I had Lasik 4 years ago, and I feel like I've been born again (not in the religious sense). I wore glasses for 33 years years, working my way up to -7.5 diopters of correction. 20/a million vision. My nose would feel like somebody was squeezing it with a pair of pliers. Now I'm 20/30, and I...

    Are many U.S. Olympic-type shooters anti-gun?

I shoot at the National Training Center and have bumped into a fair share of Olympic shooters. I've never heard anything along those lines from any of the shooters on the US Olympic teams. When I took a tour of the National Training Center, when we got to the shooting range, the guide was...

    Are many U.S. Olympic-type shooters anti-gun?

In general, no, Olympic shooters are not anti-gun, in my experience. They may not be as pro-gun as me (Vermont-style concealed carry for all), but they're pro-gun enough.

    rude range...would you return?

I would not go back to a rude range. The original problem that started this thread is a judgment call (or else we wouldn't have so many different replies). I'm in favor of common sense over zero tolerance. Werewolf did not say if he was holding it one hand while filing the sight, or if it...

    Pics of meprolights????

I have meprolight sights on my Colt Officer's ACP, and a digital camera. But I have no idea how to upload a picture to this forum. And I'm leaving for Hawaii tmw, so I don't have time to figure it out right now. Sorry about that! Not much of a first post, is it? Mark
