Just got my encore in 204 this week and shot it today. We put a scale on it and it measured 7.5lbs of trigger pull. Is this normal? It breaks nice but that is alot of pull in my book. Any one ever adjusted the pull on an Encore. 4 or 5 is all I am looking for.
Went PD shooting this weekend and really got into them. I had to switch between guns alot because I thought the temp was too high on the barrels. I have a infrared temp meter and was wondering what temp reading would be to high to keep shooting the gun in order to avoid damage.
Oh come on guys you make it sound like we live in a desert. However, I do remember starting some nice fires at Ft Carson, CO shooting tracers out of SAWs. We have hunted the same ground in north central SD for over 25 years and I suppose it would be a bad idea to ruin the family name...
Call me weird, but I saw Wideners and 1200 55gr 223 tracers for $70. I was thinking it would provide an interesting twist to P-Dog hunting. Has any one ever loaded these? What about accuracy and barrel wear? I quess it could be a new meaning to red mist.
If you are like me it gets worse. I just started reloading and was having a blast. Then I ran out of stuff to reload so I bought another gun to reload for. I find it kind of fun to work up loads for new gun. My wife is not so sure I am saving money reloading or not
Wanted to try some reduced loads for my 223. I found this web site showing loads ranging from 4 to 6.4 grains of Green Dot. (http://www.accuratereloading.com/223rem.html)
Has anyone tried these? Do you think they would work in my AR?
I was preparing to wash some 204 brass (I put them throught the washing machine I don't tumble) and I just for fun swabbed the inside of a non-washed case with a Q-tip. It came out clean. I tried the Q-tip on a washed case and it came out the same way. To further the experiment I took a...
I just started reloading and got the four hole Lee turret press. Works great!! When I first started I took out the indexing rod and worked it like a single stage. Now I reload .40SW and .45ACP with it auto indexing. I can reload 200 rounds in about an hour. When I do rifle I pull back out...
I am kind of new to the reloading thing but I can do about 5 boxes 200 rounds an hour on my Lee four hole with the Safety Prime. Took a little getting used to but it works great.
Lennyjoe,
I have used imr 4895, 335, and Benchmark out of it. Not had any problems at all. I usualy measure every 10 rounds or so and all charges were consistant.
I just got a Lee Perfect Powder Measurer and was reloading some 204 ruger. Unfortunatly the mouth is to big for a 204 case. To solve the problem I glued a disposible tip off of a Otoscope (the thing a Dr looks in your ear with) to the end of the powder dispensing cone. You can order an extra...
