    All around rifle...PEASE HELP

Forget LRB (go to lrbarms.com) then (apx $2500.00 and up). Find a Springfield Armory on sale or a used one if you don't mind the weight. Honestly though, you'll probably have to add $200-$400 to your $1000 to find a good used one or new one. Deals are out there.

What caliber(s) should I add to my rifle collection?

You know, it's almost unamerican not to have some type of M14. .45-70 and .17HMR are my other two suggestions. (Marlin and CZ)

    All around rifle...PEASE HELP

Trust your gut and get a .308. An M14 is hard to beat but may be a little heavy. I love my LRB. How much to you want to spend?

My Friends Found a Rifle in the Woods

Yeah, I'm sure it's just covered in "evidence". Finger prints, rifling, firing pin, extractor, it's all just like it was the last time a little chunk of lead left the barrel. The only possible thing is the serial # may be to a reported stolen gun, etc. Have the # checked, if not, do...

    Long gun for field protection

I kind of thought this thread would end with: rifle: Marlin 1895G 45-70 pistol: comfortable, strong, double action .44magnum revolver (Super Red Hawk or Rugers other Alaskan revolvers.

Shoot to kill or to stop?

TWO, CENTER MASS...one to the head. It's training and reflex. Stay calm and fire until stopped, if they die, that's their problem.

    CMI magazine tilt

Yes, CMI makes M14 mags for our military. I would fire your rifle with the magazine, slow if necessary, and see how it goes from there. You may want to take it apart, just to be sure the guts look OK.

I have come to the conclusion that I am just not an AR guy.....

That's why God (and Mr. Garand) invented the M-14

    new guy here

Oh man, at first I thought your "name" was Caltrans...I was gonna have to give you a ribbing about standing around with a shovel in your hands with 6 other coworkers and watching one other person actually working. (an inside California joke). Welcome!

Using vaseline as a pistol lube??

Hmmm...I'm not too sure how "runny" Vaseline will get after being exposed to heat from friction due to repeated back and forth cycling ;). But since I've never heard of anyone using it, I'm going to assume that it's not a good substitute for the lubrication of firearms, though probably...

    Dunno

Well...you don't need to worry about someone entering your house through the floor from a crawl space under your house.:D If you mean bullets bouncing off the foundation, I believe they would probably hit the concrete and fly off into the floor board at the bottom of the wall behind your...

    Common sense from Eowyn (LOTR)

Very nice. Simple, tasteful, and no muzzle staring in your face. It could almost be used for any style of self defense by changing what she is holding or wearing. Good Job Oleg.

California: Banning lead and requiring microstamping since 2007

That "movie" on their site said this law effects "new model automatic handuns" so does that really mean only "NEW MODEL" or does that mean ALL new auto's after 2010, not just a new design. And what happens when you need a new firing pin? This state's pol's suck.

California: Banning lead and requiring microstamping since 2007

SF and LA control statewide elections now...but enough politics... Time to buy a couple more auto's before this sets in. What are the odds on Ruger playing the game, to get a market advantage on the gun manufacturer's that won't play along (ala Barret).

I could only date 10gauge shotguns...if you know what I mean. No .22's for me.;)

How I love me some California, and the DOJ (and Turners Outdoors)

I try to only buy firearms at the Riverside store and try to use one guy in particular who's worked there forever. But in general they've been very good there on all my buys...until my last. The only problem I've had was my last purchase (LRB M25) and somebody misplaced some of the paperwork...

Captain America Returns. This Time, Packin' Heat!

I wonder how many spare mags he's gonna carry... ...and does he need a permit to carry? Will he leave California, Massatwoships and New York undefended due to the lack of right to carry? Will he have a personal lawyer to defend against the bleeding-hearts myriad lawsuits that...
