    Any Revolvers in 45 ACP?

I occasionally conceal my 5" 625 but I wouldn't consider it deep concealment.

Legal Considerations of Posting on the Internet

The person who open carried the AK-variant pistol didn't really seem do anything to help himself live a trouble-free life but that doesn't mean I condemn him for exercising his right to make a poor choice in defensive arms or carry it. The sling is the part that would bother me in a crowded...

    Savage for F/TR competition

Congratulations. Those are some great scores for your first match!

    Any Revolvers in 45 ACP?

That Governor looks very interesting to me since much of my shooting is at mice. I also like 45-auto in a revolver and would like the ability to run 45LC from the same gun. Now, if they would just make one 4 or 5" in stainless with a titanium cylinder and no lock, I think I'd have to buy...

    Savage for F/TR competition

I've seen several people fail to make 1k with 168 SMKs. I wouldn't bother with them unless you want a different load for 500 and 1k. I never tried anything but the 175 SMKs because they work. I push them with Varget.

    Savage for F/TR competition

Late to the party, but I shoot a Savage F/TR in F/TR class. Missing from your shopping list is a Karsten adjustable cheek rest. Mine consistently shoots to 1/2 minute at 100 and the long tube starts them fast. Many people who score me in the matches comment on how well my rifle shoots...

    kicked out for ccw?

Pretty much anywhere except work that I conceal I use the term a little loosely. I frequently "conceal" N-frame revolvers and use OWB holsters. I think I got made once while "concealing" a 5" N-frame on the way back from a shooting match. I was scooting into a tight booth at Subway and the...

    New iPhone app: Range Buddy

As implemented is good enough for me. The extra rings are no bother, just need more real estate in the center.

    New iPhone app: Range Buddy

The website says it works with the iPad. The program looks interesting. Are shots entered by touch instead of some other method? As for feedback, the target pictured has too many rings and the center rings are too small (for my purposes). I shoot f-class and it's uncommon to have a...

    Breakfast at Perkins: Revolver Down!

I retired a Don Hume IWB holster because it was not secure on my belt. I had it fall or nearly fall off my belt a couple times. Fool me once, shame on you - fool me twice...

    Revamped gun choosing tool

Kingpin, Could be. I run Adblock, NoScript, Flashblock etc. I expected it to work after allowing Javascript but that didn't get it. Got it working by allowing JS from uservoice.com

    Revamped gun choosing tool

It doesn't seem to work in Firefox on a Mac, but the idea is interesting. I think it would be more interesting, to me - someone who is familiar with guns but not ALL guns, if it selected potential guns by feature set. For example: Double action first pull, single action second pull, 40 or...

What's the deal with open sights?

It's even worse than that. As you observed the iron sights are useless but additionally the stock is set up for use of those crappy sights, not the scope they will be replaced with.

How to introduce a handgun into the house with a 14-year old?

Wear it. Then you don't have to worry about anyone gaining access to it while you are not supervising.

Phantom 9/11: LE draws down on my family

Caller-ID, like an email address, is easily forged and some people seem to take amusement in trying to get SWAT called out to a residence. Google "swating"

Why Don't You Shoot In Local Matches?

WHEN I don't compete, it's mostly because of the travel, expense, and because I like to do things with my wife who is no longer enthusiastic about competing. She got tired of having everyone and their brother trying to tell her how to shoot and is now less interested. She liked to shoot...

Why do you participate in shooting matches?

I compete for the usual reasons; to get some trigger time under stress, hone my skills, with rifle - to get immediate shot feedback at long range, and to have FUN.

    longe range target rifle

I suggest you consider doing long range competitions. Find out what kind of matches are in your area; F-Open, F/TR, High Power, Palma, etc. and get a rifle that is both legal and well equipped for the matches you want to shoot. I shoot F/TR with a Savage 308. In F-Class, the F/TR rules...

    Arizona Defensive Display

Armoredman, Presumably you are referring to HB2145 which, thus far, adds only the word holster to section D3? http://www.azleg.gov/FormatDocument.asp?inDoc=/legtext/50leg/1r/bills/hb2145p.htm
