Bluffed once without knowing it.
Was visiting a friend in Tennessee. He always has a firearm on him. He was in the Navy with me and I think (never asked or proven, that he even carried to work, since we were in nuclear power, an even bigger no-no). We went out to dinner at a Steak and Shake...
Chris,
I am planning on attending Ironman in 2009. I would really like to be able to ask some questions to someone who has shot there. I have been shooting IPSC/USPSA/IDPA for about 15 years (IDPA since it started). I have shot maybe 6 0r 7 3 gun matches now. I plan on shooting many more the...

Darn Cajun,
You beat me to it. I was going to say my favorite of the 5 I served on was the USS Stonewall Jackson - SSBN 634 (Served on 2 Ohio's but they don't have the character of the old boats).
Read this story about famed gun store owner, Harry Beckwith, defending himself with Class III firearms. This would make it seem that it is legal.

I retired from the Navy after 23 years. I was a nuclear trained submarine Chief Electricians Mate. IMHO we tend to worship or like what other groups of people do because it it not what we do. I have been told by Marines, Marine Recon, Army vets from Iraq and Army vets from Iraq 91 that what I...
I use a G17 with Dawson Precision fiber optic sights. They are adjustable and really stand out. As said above, I have never shot IDPA, USPSA or IPSC in anything other then daylight. Even when it is cloudy, they pick up light and stand out. IMHO, fiber optics are the way to go.
I shoot 9mm, 223 and 12ga for USPSA and 9mm in IDPA. Only reload 9mm. Will start 223 again since prices are going up so much. Have had a Dillon 550 for about 10 years.
I lived in Charleston, SC about two years ago. Try the Palmetto Gun Club web site (http://www.palmettogunclub.org/). They have a nice 600 yard range and have a high power match every month.
I use a company that I do not see mentioned here much. Georgia Arms has very good ammo and good prices. If you buy in real bulk, more then $500, $750, and up, depending on were you live, they will pay shipping. I have used them for about 12 years (about 20,000 9mm, 10,000 .40 and 10,000 .223...
I have had one for years. Started off in IPSC with it. I have shot about 10000 rounds through it with zero failures (my friends will tell you that I really do not like to clean guns either). It is built like a tank. It is my home protection gun.
Shooting thousands of 22 rounds with my Dad and brothers.
The week I spent at Thunder Ranch, one of the funnest weeks ever.
Shooting a M14 at Oscar the dummy in the middle of the Pacific from the sail of a sub.
I have a brand new Remington 1100 Tactical (22" barrel) that I bought for 3 gun matches. I have shot about 60 rounds with it. I would like to use normal 2 3/4" #7 or 8 shells for the matches. The problem is I have not found any that will work reliably. I was under the impression that Remington...

Most people I have seen at shotgun and 3 gun matches use a belt mounted system of some kind.
I use a Weaver 1x3 on my JP 3-gun AR. The guys at JP said they use it also. It has worked great so far. Shoots great long distance and is truely no mag on the 1x scale. Good all around for $200.
