I've heard the finish wears off but it's stronger than the chasis of an AR-15. As far as breaking or anything, unless you run over it with a car, probably not. I've heard nothing but good things about this carbon stuff.
I'd like to try that. My problem would be as you stated above. I've got a neighbor that has a machine shop though so that might be my project in the future. Galils are great.

Nevermind, visited the website again and found the receiver and rifle.
Rifle is steep. So are the receivers, which are listed as sold out.
So how exactly are they doing this for under 1K??

The cheapest 'clone' I've seen is on Atlantic Firearms website and the receiver is made by Ohio Rapid Fire.
